We had an excellent meal at Slate Bleu. We were very impressed. Food was first class: well prepared, well presented and delicious. We were visiting from NYC and I would compare this restaurant to many first-rate restaurants in NY. We used to live in Paris and I would say this compared to restaurants there too. We had Frisee; Salmon Tartare;... More

Diner by chance at Slate Blue proved to be a worthwhile experience. Slightly hidden off the Main Street of Doylestown, this restaurant has a laid back New York City vibe. From the cocktails ( at Bucks County prices) to an excellent seafood meal, the trip there was worthwhile. We dined on a Friday evening and had no wait.

We had been there a year ago, liked it and visited it again when we now visited D'town. It has a nice ambiance with a romantic touch. There is a very good beer selection - bottled beer that is. I did not find half sized bottles of wine or a house wine sold in carafes - his might be a... More

We tried to like this place but the staff are incredibly pretentious and the food is reheated from plastic bags purchased at the local train station snack machine. The floating waitress was especially rude and completely clueless. Service was at a glacial pace and they actually seemed proud of it. I think the worst part was this place is rated... More

Pleasant environment, not noisy. The emphasis is on excellent food and friendly service. There is an upstairs room, which could be used for groups.

This restaurant tucked in off the Main Street in Doylestown and behind Talbots is an attractive and friendly place to have a meal. The waiter was informative and did not rush us and he seemed to know the menu items. The three of us each had a cocktail before dinner and then each had a glass of wine with our... More

There were three of us for lunch. We began with the pate. It was served with caramelized onions, mustard, pickles and grilled bread. It was excellent. Next we had poached salmon in a dill sauce and shrimp in panko. Both dishes were wonderful. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and was served in a delicious sauce atop of jicama. All in... More

I am getting more critical in my reviews because everything can't be above average. When rating a place I now ask myself will I go back? In this case I would but I probably won't. The ambiance here was great. It was lively, and comfortable inside. The wine selection is modest but there is something for all. The menu is... More

We went with another couple to try this restaurant for the first time. We were very pleasantly surprised. We were seated a bit late but treated to some nice cheese puffs while waiting. Service was excellent and food quality for tops. Our salads were excellent. I enjoyed the duck confit service in the round with wonderful whipped potato and my... More

I especially liked their white Bordeaux with dinner. Excellent French food; great soups; appetizers are interesting and different. I had a Bastille Day special dinner menu last year and it was great--French provincial food. They have one of the best salads I have ever had, with figs and blue cheese, a harvest special. My friends and I frequently meet her... More
