been here probably 50 times over the years, almost always eat in the sushi bar, interacting with your chef is always a blast! They have real fun personalities, they treat you like an honored guest in their house. Been to Sushi Bars around the US, some great ones in Southern California, but Aoyama compares well, and they're in Erie! Who'da... More

I would call us regulars at Aoyama, we dine there every month or so. This trip was absolutely awful. I'm not sure when things changed (we were just there a month or so ago and it was fine) but theres a new menu and you now have to choose between soup and salad when dining at the hibachi tables. I... Stopped on a business trip. Had a few different rolls and they were all large with plenty left over. Hibachi was packed for midweek so I am assuming it was good as well. Would go back if I was in the area

My boyfriend and I were hungry for sushi. Out first pick of restaurants wasn't open on Sunday so we went to Aoyama instead. We chose four different sushi rolls and each had miso soup. We were very disappointed in the sushi rolls. They were small and except for the tempura chicken, tasteless. We will. It go there again for sushi.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Aoyama last weekend. We had scallops, shrimp, lobster and filet mignon between us. The salad, fried rice and veggies were delicious too! The staff was extremely nice and made our visit that much more fun. They sang Happy Birthday twice to the next table...that was a bit over the top! The... More

Decent food with good selection of sushi, but overpriced, now that we also have Chopstix. Tempura too greasy for my tastes.

Its just ok. Service is average at best cooks are hit and miss same with the food. Its more expensive then it should be. It is clean and looks nice inside but id go to hibachi on 12th street any day before this place better service food cooks and half thw price.

Considering it's in a small town, this place offers acceptable quality of Japanese food. The rolls were the best part however the teriyaki chicken and beef were over cooked and dry. Service was what you'd expect from a mom + pop shop, polite and basic. They do hibachi/teppanyaki cooking so the restaurant has a strong smell of grilled cooking (insufficient... More

After a busy Sunday afternoon we stopped at Aoyama's before going home. Very relaxing in the main dining room with glass of wine before our usual combination dinner, fillet & shrimp and sometimes I order scallops. Love the fried rice, too.

The food was great and you can seat up to 20 people at a double table, which worked out nicely for us. The chefs were nice and fun, but not too many "tricks". Overall, a good meal.
