My husband and I were visiting Ilkley and chanced upon this gorgeous Italian restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It seems to be a good marker (for us) when the serving staff do not need to interrupt your meal to ask if 'everything is alright'. They were polite and friendly and left us to our own conversation. The food was genuine Italian fare and the lunchtime deal of a drink, main meal and coffee was excellent value.
The lunch menu was a choice of roughly 8 dishes - each one described and explained to us by the staff. It was great being able to find something different.
We plan to return again and again.

A superbly ‘quirky’ Italian restaurant - quite tiny and offering two evening sittings (6.30 and 8.30) with a need to book well in advance. There are no printed menus, the chef/maitre’d announces the available choices with a run down of ingredients, flavours and preparation. Every dish is cooked fresh and to order and yet this tiny restaurant manages to serve a relatively wide and varied selection of dishes each night. The food is absolutely superb, easily the best Italian food I have tasted outside of Italy and better than most served during my stays in that country. Presentation is excellent, the wine list extensive, select and very reasonably priced, whilst staff are attentive enough without disturbing the culinary experience. A wonderful find, tucked away in a quiet corner of Ilkley but deserving of a national reputation.

My wife and I have visited Emporio many a times over the last couple of years but this time we treated ourselves and booked in early for Valentines. From as soon as we stepped in the door it was as if I had stepped into a little Trattoria down a little street in Rome, the welcome you get is as if you’re part of the family, the service is brilliant and thoughtful, nothing is ever too much. My Wife and I dine out at least once a week, trying out all sorts of restaurants, but the food at Emporio really is exquisite. We had the Alpine Cheese and Asparagus to start, my wife then had the Chicken and I went for the Lamb- all amazing. So thank you Luigi and the gang for another Lovely evening.

Emporio Italia Ilkley.
Never normally post things like this but feel really angry...
So we booked a table here during “eat out to help out” having had two previous visits during normal times.
We traveled over with the children looking forward to a lovely Italian feast, we arrived 15 mins early to find there was people waiting for it to open. We were eventually greeted after being ignored at the door looking into a full restaurant, to be told they’d given our table away to regulars who’d just turned up. We were turned away with an apology, but not before I’d confirmed they had our booking and phone number.
We parted amicably and the owner agreed to ring me after the weekend to confirm a booking another night as an apology...
Another couple who were also waiting, said they’d booked 3 weeks ago and they were also turned away for regulars.
Can you guess? no call from Emporio Italia so the moral of this story is don’t go unless you’re a regular.

I apologise again for the mistake i made,if i recall I find you a table at another restaurant on my expense to apologise which you decided not to take, you came back to restaurant and asked me to rebook for next week which I did and you agreed, you decided not to attend without any notice maybe for a silly revenge which i understand, i am feel sorry for you to show everyone what kind of person are you. So So disappointing, I have visited this restaurant many times and always enjoyed my food.
Regrettable my Visit on Valentine’s Day was a disaster.
The chefs allowed my wife to be served RAW CHICKEN for the main course.

We booked in over the weekend for our first meal out post covid, and it was absolutely delicious.
The family who run it are just wonderful, couldn't be more helpful and obviously just love what they do and the food they create.
I cannot tell you how incredible the food is, if I could eat here every week I absolutely would, and great value for money too. If you're looking for an amazing intimate dinner experience with wonderful staff, and amazing food and drink, then book in immediately. You won't be disappointed!

We Booked this restaurant 10 days in advance due to covid and we are so glad we did. Lovely seating at the front of the restaurant where we had a drink first before being seated. We unexpectedly had olives and some beautiful breads arrive (we hadn’t ordered these) with our wine which was a lovely touch. We were seated to our table, the menu was explained by the chef first and the atmosphere was great, it felt like we were abroad! The staff were brilliant and so attentive. The food was delicious we have never experienced anything like before.
We loved every second of our evening. We will definitely be booking again. Service was outstanding.

Emporio Italia is by far our favourite restaurant to visit. The food is unbelievably tasty and authentic, there is a great atmosphere and the service provided by the team is warm and friendly. We have been for both evening and lunchtime meals and feel it is great value for money but in particular the lunch menu.
If you haven’t been, you need to pay it a visit but book well in advance!

Based in an intimate setting, Emporio in Ilkley offers amazing food this is made with care and a passion you that don't find in many places. The ever changing menu leaves you in a state of excited anticipation between visits ensuring that you never leave disappointed or indeed hungry. Such great value for money and with service that is second to none, Emporio is like having dinner at a friend's house.
If you want to experience authentic Italian cuisine in an authentic setting but don't want to leave the country, Emporio should be on your list.

We visited here last night, the atmosphere and food was amazing. We loved every bit of it. We loved the menu, small but lots of choice. I loved the owner talking through each dish, how it will be made and served with. Prawns to start were so tasty and the steak was very good. My partner had the lasagne best lasagne he had ever tasted. Puddings looked fab but was too full. Can’t wait to try it again and to see what’s on the Menu for next time.

Unique experience! I can’t believe this is the 1st time I’ve been. I’ll definitely be back!
Loved the fact that their fabulous Italian Chef comes out to talk to the entire restaurant of diners all about his daily menu prior to everyone placing their orders. Being a fresh unique menu every single day, there are only 6 or so options BUT he cooks each and every one to order and can amend them to your tastes and dietary requirements. We are both vegan and he very quickly gave us 3 options on how he could change the dishes to suit us.

Another superb meal at this incredible, authentic restaurant. First stop after arriving from NYC today.
The welcome is always warm and genuine. You feel like you are home with the incredible aromas of what is to come. Casual and comfortable atmosphere make you feel relaxed immediately.
First rate knowledgeable and attentive service ensures this place runs seamlessly whilst remaining very friendly.
Very well made Aperol spritzes set a great meal off.
The food here is just incredible , today for lunch we both had fantastic homemade pasta dishes, my tortellini had wild boar, red onion and a cream sauce with fresh parmesan. Just Outstanding as was my sisters that had courgette, tomatoes, aubergine and peppers. Light but beautiful depth of flavors.
We shared a wonderful chocolate and pistachio Canolli with pistachio ice cream.
Cannot wait to return again as this place has it all and is just phenomenal. Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.

We are extremely lucky to have Emporio Italia in nearby Ilkley. It’s so authentic that you enter a little piece of Italy as you walk in and it is as far removed from a chain Italian restaurant as you can imagine.
Lunchtime is extra great value with a fixed price offering, which includes a glass of wine.
There are 2 sittings and this arrangement is perfect as it enables the chef owner to describe all of the dishes to diners, in the most lovely way.
I absolutely love this unique touch and my only complaint is that all of the food is so utterly delicious that it’s very hard to decide. I feasted on the best risotto I have ever tried today.
Whether you visit at lunchtime or in the evening you will love everything about this special place.

I’ll start by saying I only write reviews if somewhere is truly deserving and this place is. A friend had booked a Friday evening dinner here for 2 couples and we’d never heard of it. I’m not usually blown away by Italian food so didn’t have high expectations - how wrong I was. It was fantastic, the atmosphere, the way they do things… and the food was spectacular. It was also very reasonably priced. It was so good that we’ve booked another meal for the next available Saturday to take our parents. Be quick - it books up fast. You certainly won’t regret it.
