Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really like this place. The food is excellent not a poor dish on the menu. Service was poor tonight though. Offered no water for the table , ordered wine which took 20 mins to come. After asking for it again. One main course forgotten. Then...it arrived after the table had been cleared, only for the waitress to say “your prawns are here do you still want them!!!”. Which by this time we had only 7 mins of our allocated slot left. The saving grace in all this was the young lady in charge. Absolute gem. Hopefully better next time. Disappointed!More

Booked in advance for 7.00 in the evening. The booking advice said that we would have the table until 8.29, which seemed reasonable, and we expected to be out earlier than that. Arrived at 7.00, the only people there, apart from a couple just finishing....Seated at 7.01. Order taken at 7.05. Drinks arrived at 7.10. It's not MacDonald's, so you don't expect instant service, but it is a tapas restaurant, and tapas restaurant dishes don't usually take too long. 7.20, 7.25, 7.30 - other people arriving, but no sign of food yet. 7.35, 7.40...7.45 the first dish appeared, but it was not for us, it was for people who'd arrived later! 7.50, 7.55...other dishes emerging, but still not for us. We pointed out the problem to a server, who went off into the kitchen, and emerged with one dish, mushroom croquettes, but none of the other four we had ordered, including a salad. How long does it take to prepare a salad? 8.05, 8.10, 8.15...more dishes had appeared for others, but not our other four, so we asked the server what was the problem, and by the way, they wanted the table back in 15 minutes. She confessed that she didn't understand how the kitchen decided which dishes were sent out, and when. At this point we decided we'd had enough (ironic expression!) and left to go to a very good Indian restaurant across the car park. How was the (limited) food and wine that we did actually have? The mushroom croquettes were nice enough, but the glass of wine, although not cheap, did taste cheap, rather acidic. As a general observation, the servers were pleasant, served the drinks efficiently, but none of them seemed to be in charge, nor did they seem to be bothered by how long we (and others) had been waiting until we complained. But as to what was going on in the kitchen, or not, that's anyone's guess.More

First visit in a while and out with the family early Saturday evening. Our booked table wasn't ready and we were asked to take a table outside while we waited. No problem with this except the wait turned out to be around 30 minutes, which...had we been served with a drink would have been okay - sadly we weren't. Very pleased with our window table when it did become available, however, the wait to get served our first drink unfortunately continued as did the wait for our food order to be taken. Now, we like to take our time when we're out for dinner and this isn't a fast food restaurant (!), but we were all getting thirsty and hungry! By any standard, the best part of 40 minutes is far too long to wait. We thought the menu looked great and when the food did start to arrive it did not disappoint - great flavours, well cooked and presented. Overall excellent! Trying to get the attention of a waitress for repeat drink orders during our meal did become tiresome and so we gave up, opting instead to ask for the bill. Great to see a local restaurant so busy but sadly they weren't staffed up to cope (certainly not that evening), so overall took the shine off the excellent food and our overall experience.More

First time ever visiting La Casita, Ilkley, and I’m disheartened to say that I most likely won’t be back. The only positive was that the food was delightful, packed full of flavour and we didn’t leave hungry. We had booked a table for 19:15, arrived...at 19:05, to be told that we would have to wait 20 minutes before a table became available. So, we headed outside for drinks, as instructed, which was pleasant enough. Ordered the drinks, told that they would be with us in 5, only for us to be waiting for 35 minutes outside; with no drinks. Finally called to the table at 19:45. Arrived at the table, waited for 10 minutes, still no drinks, no menus, nothing. The four drinks came out staggered, then had to remind a waitress that we still had not received two drinks. The waitresses were stood chatting at the bar on several occasions, laughing amongst themselves, looking totally disinterested; we even asked one to come over, she looked at us, dead-pan, then walked off. We had ordered one round of drinks which took, at best, an hour to get to us. I appreciate it was busy, but I’ve been in busier restaurants with far fewer staff, and have never once waited nearly an hour for 4 drinks. We nearly didn’t bother ordering another round, but we did, and shouldn’t have, because that was an additional 45 minute wait for one glass of wine and one beer… The same story, the waitresses were stood bone idle at the bar and at this point it was turning in to a bit of a joke. We finally got the drinks, necked them, and left - we just couldn’t be bothered anymore. But when asking for the bill, it came at lightening speed. It was clear that the restaurant was devastatingly understaffed, which sadly, really dampened our birthday celebrations. The waitresses were okay-ish, slightly abrasive and dismissive and almost behaved like we were inconveniencing them by asking them for their service. Such a shame as was really looking forward to it, and won’t be back any time soon, but again, can’t fault the food at all - it was delicious.More

We dined here for the all you can eat, which we’d tried in the past (albeit a long time ago!) and it was lovely, however this time it was disappointing. In terms of the positives, the atmosphere is lovely and cosy, and the waitresses were...really friendly. However the food wasn’t great (apart from the manchego croquettes which were really good.) Every single dish was swimming in oil, even the patatas bravas which are usually crispy - once you got to the bottom were drenched in oil. We ordered what we thought would be some fresher tasting dishes such as the prawn bruschetta however again the bread was soaked in oil, and the tomato sauces found in the meatballs and butternut stew were so sweet as though they’d had lots of sugar added. I do appreciate for the all you can eat dishes have to be able to be prepared quickly or in advance but unfortunately nothing had that fresh taste that you expect from Spanish tapas and we’ve both been feeling pretty sick from all the oil. We also asked for water for the table 4 times which never arrived. Sadly won’t be returning.More

A large party of us dined here on a Saturday night and admittedly I'm not a huge Tapas fan but the menu seemed a little limited. We ordered a number of dishes to share between us and then a second and third round, bulked out...with fries, as we were still hungry. I wouldn't say any or us we were "big eaters" and seemingly the portions are what you would expect with Tapas however we left a little unfulfilled. Our friends had been here on a few occasions and said the same so being my first time I'm not sure if anything's changed or if we were all just particularly hungry. The food was tasty and the drinks options were very good. The staff along with the service were excellent and at £30 per head, given the wine etc we had, was reasonable.More
