Visited last night as a party of 9 to celebrate a Birthday. We all ordered a different main course. The wait was disappointing, even though the pub wasn't busy. None of the meals arrived piping hot, in fact in some cases, the vegetables were cold. My mixed grill meat was way over cooked, likewise with meats on other plates. 8 out 9 rated the meal very poor. Yes, we could have complained, but some members of the party are elderly and ill, so kept quiet to allay any stress. A shame and big disappointment as we've had good meals on previous visits.

Really disappointed with todays meals. We both ordered cottage pie which was basically a dish of mash potatoes 🥔 we found half a dozen tiny bits of mince in each one. Luckily there was a jug of tasty gravy to make it edible as we were both hungry. We did inform the waitress when she came to collect our plates but were not offered any refund.
We have been eating here for many years and have noticed the change in menu etc but sadly this has put us off an early if any return.

I have eaten here a few times and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. The food is enjoyable and the golden syrup sponge is beautiful. I have always enjoyed the pies, but I have found that the quality depends on what you order. My mum ordered the crispy chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. That was poor with lukewarm chips and three sad pieces of chicken in a wrap with no salad or sauce. She didn't want me to complain but this was her first visit and so was disappointed after I had been telling her how good the food was. I will keep eating there as I have always enjoyed what I have had - but I will stick to what I know is good.

Just been here for a meal towards my mums birthday on Friday with the family.
Never had any issues in here before, food always quick, lovely and staff very friendly.
Tonight was a different matter altogether, felt like we had gone somewhere else instead. Even though we had booked a table, we didn't receive any food for an hour and half. Then when it came, it was a poor standard, very cold but at that point everyone was starving so they ate most of it. I choose to have salmon, which came 10 mins after my aunties meal, who was also having salmon. Cut into it and it was raw and juice coming out of it, completely put me off eating the rest of the food and dads chicken wasn't even cooked right.
We complained and the manager instead of been apologetic and offering to atleast refund half of our meals. Only refunded the salmon and got very argumentative and basically said we was in the wrong and pretty much told me to eat the salmon as nothing was wrong with and 90% of the food had been eaten. Even though we was all dying from starvation at this point.
Very rude and not the way to deal with this situation at all!

We have visited this place on a few different occasions however this time the menu seemed different. I went for the chicken strips in a wrap which was clearly a single small frozen chicken burger cut into strips and placed in a wrap with no garnish inside or anything. My mum ordered the veggie Kiev which was also shocking for the price served with tonnes mushy peas and a few grubby looking new potatoes. My husband did enjoy his which did look lovely (beef sandwich). The kids meals we ordered was what you would expect frozen small pizza with some fries. The puddings was very nice no issue there. To sum it up I would say it does appear to be a very reasonable priced menu however when you see the standard and quality of the food it doesn’t really justify the price for some of the items on the menu. Waiter was very friendly as were all the staff. Nice clean environment. Not sure I would return.

James was a replacement turn for Buddy Holly tribute. He was brilliant. Sang a good selection of 60s 70s and 80s music. We were there for a birthday party. We had a set meal which was delicious. The staff are wonderful. A great time was had by all. Our group of friends go regularly for lunch because we find The Liversedge to be an excellent place and great value for money

Visited the restaurant with a friend and both ordered fish finger sandwich.One in brown bread and one in white. They weren't cheap at £8.75 each. We were both of the same opinion that the meals were of a very poor standard and extremely poor value for money. The one in white tasted as though the bread was old and the batter on both sandwich was inedible. There was a minimal amount of fish in both sandwiches and overall they were disgusting and very unappetising. We left both meals on the plates and informed a waitress who said she would inform the manager. After 15 mins and seeing no one we mentioned it to another waiter and the manager eventually came to our table. She definitely needs some training in customer relations. We got a load of irrelevant, waffle about suppliers etc and all we got was a pathetic, "sorry" . No mention of any refund or recompense. Unfortunately you have to pay when ordering so they have the upper hand, otherwise I would have refused to pay. I felt it would only cause a scene so just left very disgruntled. Totally unacceptable that they don't accept genuine customer criticism and aren't prepared to rectify the issues. Very amateurish, unprofessional and ignorant. Its Just like sticking 2 fingers up at customers.

Hi Richard, the 2 ladies that visited did convey their disappointment with their meals to the waitress but didn't ask to speak to a manager, when they asked the waiter the manageress went across immediately, the 2 ladies clearly stated that they didn't want a refund or anything and just wanted to offer their feedback, the manageress apologised and explained that due to a national shortage of cod and wheat that we are using different suppliers for some products and that she would pass on their comments to her managers.

Food was decent for pub food however, the manager was rude and spoke down to us as we were only 17. Me and my boyfriend went for a meal out I went up to order Two NON-alcoholic drinks and they was no issue, later we went back up to order some food there was still no issue. The manager then came to deliver the food to our table knowing there was only the two of us, still no issue. After my boyfriend had finished he went up to order a desert and another NON-alcoholic drink for me as I still hadn't finished my meal, he got asked for ID by the manager as he said we wasn’t allowed to be in there alone as we were under 18 however, we have already got food and been in there for two hours. I understand that we was under 18 and They have rules however, I feel this should have been mentioned when we first arrived and not halfway through my meal as I had to finish my meal with no drink, I have been here many times before with no issue, I feel they needs to be set rules and consistency throughout the staff so these issues don’t happen again, this ended in a very disappointing evening as we had to leave early and me and my family will not be returning again. (I have been to many different pubs for a meal with non-alcoholic drinks and have never had an issue as 16 and 17 year olds are allowed in without an adult)

We went for our Christmas dinner and it was an absolute mess. All courses arrived later than what is deemed appropriate. First course, leek and potato soup, was cold and tasted gross. I am gluten intolerant which they were told in advance and they still served me food that contained gluten. My soup had croutons (gluten) the bread was not gluten free, and I wasn't told what food would be suitable for me to eat. The manager was not hospitable at all and did not want to listen to our queries and complaints. We kept asking for our wine which we had ordered in advance, when we asked the staff for like the 100th time they told us you can't have the wine until you pay for it - we were already well into eating our main course. We tried to talk the manager and complain that they should have told us to pay for the wine at the beginning of the meal and to make us aware that this was the deal. He replied I won't give you the wine until you pay for it - he then continued to say this is my Christmas day and we are short staffed - basically getting annoyed at us for complaining. My biggest concern is the lack of attention paid to my allergies, if my intolerance was in fact an allergy (e.g., celiac) I could have been seriously ill and having an intolerance such as mine means you have to put trust into those cooking and serving your meal. it is safe to say I do not trust The Liversedge.

Went here for the first time for the Valentine’s Day three course meal offer.
The meatball starters didn’t appear to be very fresh or home-made. As for the mains, didn’t enjoy it. I had chicken tagliatelle, but when I received it I noticed it was served with spaghetti instead - plus the spaghetti was cold. However, I didn’t think it was worth complaining as we had seen inside the kitchen there were a few microwaves (chef Mike), so I would assume it would be warmed up using them/didn’t want to wait again or have alternative meal. I understand when restaurants can run out of certain products but it would’ve been nice to have been told, especially as it was a Saturday and a special three course meal. The chicken was okay, but it was heavily breaded and not much of a chicken breast. The other main we had was pork belly however, the mash was flavourless and just seemed to be mash potato - nothing else to it. The pork belly that arrived looked nice and crispy however, the skin and fat were like mush. The gravy was also very granularly. The passionfruit cheesecake for dessert however was lovely.
Whilst I thought I was getting a good deal, I now understand why the price was so low. Unfortunately won’t be going there again.

Probably the worst meal I've had in a long while. Had to wait over an hour for our food to turn up only to receive cold food and undercooked salmon. When we complained the owner/manager said there was nothing wrong with the salmon. it just wasn't cooked to our liking. The last time I looked you were a pub not a sushi bar! Wouldn't refund as we had eaten most of it but explain as we'd waited over an hour, we were starving and where would we get decent food at 8.45 pm on a Wed night. Owner/manger was very argumentative instead of just holding up his hands and saying they let everyone down. We weren't the only ones, other tables had the same problem.

We had our Christmas Day dinner here and it was absolutely terrible. We waited 45 minutes for the starter which was leek and potato soup but obviously packet soup as it was awful. Waited another 45 minutes for the main course. Again terrible. Served in tin dishes like bed pans, no cranberry sauce or Yorkshire puddings and luke warm. The turkey wasn’t fresh, it was pre-carved. When we complained the manager was extremely rude, did not apologise and clearly did not care. Ruined our Christmas Day.

I we as a family booked to have our CHRISTMAS DINNER here. The soup was very late arriving, it was supposed to be leek and potato?? The second course was again late and so disappointing. The turkey was clearly not carved (as you would expect for this very important meal). The rosaries were obviously frozen and not cooked in the traditional manner. Sprouts were soggy and barely warm as were the rest of the vegetables. The gravy was served in a small cream jug not as you would expect a gravy boat. The vegetables were served in metal containers not porcelain dishes and were not presented well. Our special meal was far from special. The managers explanation was ‘it’s my Christmas Day as well)!! If this place cannot provide a festive meal that is edible, they should stop and concentrate on whatever they are good at. and retrain the manager regarding his customer service skills. Never to return

Visited tonight in party of 3. Ordered a Brie and Cranbury Wellington that sounded lovely. Was served mushrooms in pastry (there is a mushroom pie on the menu). When I queried this I was told the chef said I got what I ordered. I then showed the bar staff the pastry cut open which had a dark mushroom filling. There was no red, yellow or cream colour anywhere in sight. This was taken into the chef who said that the Wellington included mushrooms and that it was what I ordered and was not a mushroom pie. He/she did not come out to speak though. Rubbish service and management but I would add none of these comments are aimed at the girl who delivered the meals to us. It is aimed at the management.

If I could award minus stars, I would ,.
7 of us booked for Christmas day lunch and it's the worst food and service experience myself and family have EVER suffered.
Food took an age to arrive, was not worth the money.
Veg soggy and tasteless, roast potatoes anaemic, stuffing balls could be used as bullets.
Plates not cleared between courses..
I could go on. But won't have enough space in this box.
I would have been embarrassed as a member of management team, iv had better £10 carverys.
