The food was excellent, one of our party had a roast one had scampi and two had the quiche which was three cheeses and really tasty. We had to wait a while before we were acknowledged and seated and there was a long gap between starters and mains which meant for the two of us who didn't have starters we had to wait 45 minutes after ordering before we had our food. The staff were friendly and hard working and the restaurant is lovely. The food cannot be faulted, good portions and very tasty.

Attractive country pub. Serving quality food. We ate roast beef and roast pork excellent taste and served hot. The desserts were equally good. The cherry pie and ice cream was delicious. Two courses £22. Staff were very attentive and pleasant. Highly recommend.

As soon as we entered The Millstream we were seated and orders taken for drinks. Menus were then produced and choices were soon made. I wondered how the staff were going to deal with the large order for food and whether this would be served in “dribs and drabs”. There were 24 of us in total, but no, every order was served at the same time and it was absolutely piping hot.

Mixed feelings here...... Staff very good, food good but why charge £1.50 for a mediocre yorkshire pudding? It is flour and milk????? Also be aware that the Sunday lunch is £25 for 2 courses not £22 as per their website. If you decide to go around Christmas when they do have a Christmas menu available, you cannot order from the A la Carte menu and the Christmas menu. Apparently this is for the ease of the kitchen and not for the customer. My question is if our 4some had sat at 2 tables of 2, would that have been OK ???

We are in our 70s celebrating a Wedding Anniversary. There was no "Good Evening" on arrival, so we just stood there until a teenager with no personality checked us in and showed us to table. I think there were 3 teenagers altogether who served us - none had any humor or personality. They seemed to talk from a script. We ordered Pork medallions and belly Pork. We reported them both tough and stringy (overcooked). We were later told our complaint had been reported to the kitchen. No apology! I then ordered fudge cheesecake - very hard to swallow and extremely sickly. My wife had Crumble which was nice. The evening was ruined by the atmosphere created by these un-supervised teenagers who simply lacked training. ( French couple on next table asked what wine they had and the waiter said "red or white!!) They have quite a good wine list!

I went to the Millstream with my husband and my cousins who were visiting from Sydney. Having been told that booking outside was not possible we turned up promptly at 12 pm only to find the three prime tables outside with’Reserved’ put on them. When I enquired as to how this was possible I was told that a large party was now coming and this had been sanctioned by the landlady. We were then told that we were not able to have the Sunday roast outside… I think it was too much effort for the staff to bring it out? We ended up with a choice of either a dreary baguette which would’ve been more interesting if it had come from Marks & Spencer‘s and a Ploughman‘s lunch where a slab of second-rate cheddar cheese had been taken out of the package and plonked on a plate. The food lacked care, flavour and indeed any imagination. I would rather have gone to a McDonald’s or a garage and grabbed a sandwich as I think I would have had better food and more choice. Hugely disappointing. Especially as we are local.

We booked and arrived near opening time and pub was quiet with only one other table occupied. We were shown to a table by a young lady who shortly came over and took our drinks order. The drinks arrived soon after. I queried a dish on the menu and she said she would go to the kitchen and find out about it for us. 10 mins later- nothing! By now we had drank our drinks and were still waiting for someone to come and take our order. I then decided to go to bar and ask for someone to take order. A girl did eventually (about 5 mins later) come and take the order. In the mealtime two tables that arrived well after us, were both having their food served! Food was faultless but seeing this is not a particularly cheap place to eat, service was dreadful. We did not tip on account of this.

Thanks go to the team at the Millstream. 10 of us had lunch yesterday, the food was amazing, well cooked and hot, served very efficiently by our bubbly server. We all enjoyed our lunch very much and, personally, as someone who doesn't eat dessert, I would recommend the Lemon and Lime Possett as a delightful finish to the meal.

Travelling back towards Frome we saw a brown sign pointing to the Millstream at Marden. A delightful pub and restaurant in a quiet village. We were quickly served and I had scampi, my wife had belly pork with soya and chilli sauce. Both were nicely cooked served hot and very tasty. Staff were very efficient and made the experience most enjoyable.

Last night we met friends here for dinner and it was excellent. The menu was varied and I opted for the whitebait followed by the haddock, accompanied by salad and sweet potato fries. My husband had the burger which was enormous and I am reliably informed was very good. They seemed full ( I was glad to have booked ) and were very busy, but the staff were charming and attentive and we never felt that we had to wait too long. I will definitely be returning!

After the absence of 5 years of visiting Pewsey, we visited the millstream a few days ago for dinner and the meal and staff service haven’t changed. The portions of serving food were just perfect and yummy. Despite of busyness, the staff were efficient, friendly and cheerful. We had an enjoyable evening and a few days before us our two daughters entertained their friend from Bahrain who was over the moon visiting the countryside and of course, enjoying your delicious selection of food surely she has good memories to share with her friends back in Bahrain.

My wife and I regularly eat at this Wadworths pub situated in the quiet rural village of Marden. We had recommended it to our friends and they joined us at Ipm for Sunday lunch. The meal was very well presented, hot and delicious - three of us had roast topside of beef and I enjoyed the pork with crackling, roast and mash potatoes with a plentiful supply of fresh vegetables. Puddings were equally delicious - two enjoying sherry trifle made with carrot cake, plum and ginger bread and butter pudding and a truly delicious chocolate brownie topped with ice cream and chocolate sauce. Kate and her team certainly pulled out all the stops and our friends stated that it was the best Sunday lunch they had enjoyed for a very long time. Our friends also said that they hope to return with a family group and will recommend their friends to visit the pub to sample the excellent food and friendly efficient service.

I’ve just eaten here on recommendation from a local. Boy was he right ! I started with whitebait, very nice, but the cheese soufflé main course with included dauphinoise potatoes and salad to follow were simply outstanding, best I’ve ever had. If you’re ever in the area do yourself a favour and go for a fab meal, you won’t regret it ! 10/10

There’s absolutely everything to love about this pub! Delicious food, exemplary service and excellent value for money. My sister & I enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday - everything was very tasty, from the perfectly cooked roast beef to the amazing homemade puddings. We’re fairly regular customers for a reason and this pub always lives up to our expectations.

I visited to celebrate my mother’s birthday. She booked the table, first tip to ensure you secure a table and avoid disappointment. The Sunday menu has roasts, beef, pork and chicken available alongside other standard pub favourites. Tip two, the roasts are plentiful, do probably decide if you want s as starter or s pudding, three courses would not be for the faint hearted. To had roast beef and it arrived with all the trimmings, loads of vegetables and all cooked like “your mum used to”. It really was delicious…best I’ve had in years… The desserts were equally delicious and our party had a chocolate brownie, Ginger Posset and a fantastic vanilla cheesecake… The overall bill was very fairly priced, great service and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend and return again.
