Lovely meal here a while back really nice, good portions at a good price and a wide choice on the menus.
First trip out to this type of place since lockdown and felt safe in the pub as tables well spread out, avtively witnessed deep cleaning once tables had been used, but staff members were seemingly not wearing any PPE on our visit which was slightly disconcerting. Every time they came to our table we turned our heads away, maybe they dont have too but we expected them too.
Toilets were nice and clean, the gents toilet even had a range of perfumes for you to use!
Lots of tables outside as well, all well spread out so if you went on a nice night that would be an option.
We will definitley consider revisiting again as had a nice night and for 3 courses and drinks for 4 people under £100 was great value.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to review your visit and for acknowledging the effort we have put in to create a positive experience for you, and indeed, all of our customers. With regard to PPE, a full range has been provided for staff but, as you noted, there is currently no legislation which dictates that this must be worn, and all of my staff, with only one exception, have chosen to use the equipment provided. I can only apologise if this made you feel uncomfortable, but are delighted that, overall, you enjoyed your visit and would consider coming again. Thank you once again for taking the time to review us.

My mum and I went for Sunday lunch. I called in advance to explain our accessibility needs and a very helpful gentleman arranged parking and table so that it was extremely easy. The pub is a little run down although nicely quirky in decor and genuinely unspoiled. It still gets 5 stars for the incredibly welcoming service from all three people we encountered and great Sunday lunch lamb and handmade steak and ale pie. The vegetables were generous perfectly cooked and included a separate dish of cauliflower cheese. We will be back.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your visit to the pub. We are delighted that you enjoyed the food and service you received. My staff and I work very hard and feedback such as yours is very much appreciated. With regard to the pub being a little run down we have, in the nearly 5 years since I took over the pub, made some significant improvements to the majority of the space. The area where you were seated is, in my opinion sadly, the least used area of the pub and so we have left it's makeover until last, but fabric has been purchased and we are awaiting our turn for the reupholsterer to work his magic. I suspect that you may not have wandered through to the main bar and dining area and when you do visit again I would strongly recommend that you take a few minutes to do so, as many more beautiful carvings, quirky alcoves and side rooms, together with fresh reupholstery and carpets will await you. Thank you again for your review and we very much look forward to your next visit.

Whilst staying at a nearby holiday cottage, we walked to The live and let live for a leisurely lunch and a few drinks.
The outside set up was definitely covid safe, with all tables and seating areas clean and socially distanced. The gentleman serving us was friendly, funny and very helpful and took contact details for track and trace immediately.
Both the main and the desert menu was great, with a lot to choose from. All dishes were tasty, obviously homemade and good value.
We would all definitely recommend this pub.

Came here for Sunday lunch during the bank holiday weekend. As always the meal, service and location did not disappoint. We both had 3 courses (this time we were determined to sample one of the wonderful desserts on offer) and could not fault a single thing, all were delicious and perfectly portioned. Although we live in Bewdley this is now our go to pub/restaurant as we find that the combination of location, service, value and terrific food just cannot be beaten anywhere else locally.

Lovely night, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. A lot of varied seating, little ingelnooks, and large tables in an older worldy setting. Food was really good, great prices for plates full of food, the belly buster mixed grill is just that, huge. A very pleasant night.

Wow, what a fabulous country pub. I’ve only ever been here for drinks, before, when playing cricket at nearby Neen Sollars, but enjoyed a meal here today. Really good menu choice, locally sourced ask home cooked food, with a friendly welcome. Good choice of real ale and the homemade cheesecakes are to die for!

Always a very welcoming place to visit. Superb beer garden and fabulous food.
My daughter and other half would die for the the cheesecake so I am happy to frequent.
I cant understand the reviews prior to this as they mention a landlord! Really can’t understand this as there is a landlady who is famous for her pies and people come from far and wide to eat them!

Sadly after a long wait the food was cold, asked for a different meal and was told no! I think they are brother and sister that run it as they are both as aggressively as each other. Smashing plates around and getting angry with us each time they brought something out. These people do not know what customer service is what so ever, and hated the fact that we criticised the fact that the food was cold. We were made to feel terrible whilst eating the cold meal. Would never EVER use this place again and would never recommend use it either. We wouldn’t have stayed to eat it only for the fact that they told us we had to pay for the cold food also! Awful people

Firstly thankyou for taking the time to review your visit. We are both surprised and disappointed to hear that you had such a dreadful experience with us, but also somewhat puzzled. There are many areas of your review which do not quite make sense and certainly do not represent the high standards which we strive to achieve, as demonstrated by the numerous positive reviews which we receive. We would very much appreciate if you could call the pub on 01299 832391 to let us know the exact date of your visit and discuss your complaints further so that I can investigate these allegations in more detail and attempt to rectify/compensate accordingly.
I look forward to hearing from you.
With kindest regards.

First time at this place and we went because it was recommended. Sunday roast was plentiful and delicious. My husband had the Vegetarian Lasagna which was homemade
He said it lovely and so were the homemade chips. Great Pudding menu and the staff were very friendly. The pub is dog friendly. Will definitely return.

Serving food all day is great as the locality lacks this. The service is warm, friendly and polite.
The main menu is typical pub grub but well executed, there is a specials board with a good variety of meals. Our meal was very nice and perfectly cooked, we had the venison which was delicious. Our new go to for late lunch. Thank you

This is a lovely pub with atmosphere. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The pies were meaty and had flaky pastry. The sea bream was so tender and chips were crunchy. I was able to order off a gluten free menu which was extensive - even the desserts. The sticky toffee pudding was very good. The waitresses were friendly and able to answer questions confidently on the menu. We will definitely be back, the garden looked like a great spot in summer. This place is a real find.

A last minute choice and so we phoned and arrived 30 minutes later. We sat in the beautiful garden enjoying a drink in the warm evening sunshine before our order was taken. We were then invited inside to dine in a wonderful alcove. The starters of prawn cocktail and whitebait were delicious and followed on by a ‘special’ warm potato salad with bacon and Brie. I enjoyed scampi with wonderful home cooked chips. The homemade dessert range is amazing, unable to decide, we shared a posset, tiramisu and Bailey’s bread and butter pudding. Everything was generously portioned and perfectly cooked. My wife described her salad as the best thing she’d eaten in ages, and we eat out quite often- accolade indeed. We then enjoyed coffee on the terrace bathed in the setting sun. A most perfect evening.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We work extremely hard to provide good food, drink and service, not to mention maintain the garden (though we thank mother nature for the beautiful views) and it is so very much appreciated when people recognise this and take the time to write a review.
Thank you again and hope you will return again in the future.

Had Sunday lunch yesterday and it was delicious, shared a baked Camembert which came with plenty of bread and fresh salad. Turkey dinners were a good size with the apricot stuffing and roast potatoes standing out. Homemade cheesecake and bread and butter pudding were not needed but still thoroughly enjoyed. Went home in a happy food coma. Staff were friendly and we will definitely be returning.

We were a party of 8 booked in for 4pm ish. A great welcome, nothing too much trouble and great service. As a coeliac I was given mine first and plated "who is the special one"? Great ser vice, great food. GF beer available too. Good banter with the staff. All very relaxed but efficiency itself. Great atmosphere. All the staff are clearly happy to work here. It shows through everything they do. A gem of a country pub.

As locals we have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. We enjoyed a meal recently with friends and were accommodated last minute, which was much appreciated as everywhere else was booked up. The atmosphere was great and the food even better. Generous portions of home cooked food at very good prices. There is a decent menu choice and aways some great specials, the food is well above your average pub grub. We will definitely be eating again here and I'm glad everywhere else was booked up and there was room for us at The Live!
