We visited on a Saturday lunchtime, parked right outside, a member of staff greeted us at the door, we chose a table in the window and were quickly provided with menus and drinks of our choice. The food is absolutely delicious and plentiful, a very interesting selection of choices, the staff are polite, friendly and very efficient, nice decor, relaxed atmosphere, I could go on and on, a lovely and enjoyable dining experience. Apparently the menu changes often and although I am not vegetarian, I do like to try different things and avoid meat on occasion. So bearing this in mind, perhaps more vegetarian options could be included in the menus. It is refreshing to find a restaurant that is open through the day as we prefer to eat in the afternoon if possible. We will certainly be returning soon.

It was my first visit to Crowded House but had heard lots of positive things prior to booking. On our arrival have our booking details and we were asked to antibac our hands due to Covid restrictions. The decor is lovely and lots to see while you are waiting. Danny our server greeted us and took a drinks order while we looked at the menu. We were spoilt for choice as there were so many options that appealed. We opted for the seafood graze platter, Asian platter and my dad ordered a steak hogie off the lunch menu. For my 11 year old she went with the kids nuggets. In line with the Covid precautions were asked to take our drinks off the trays when they were brought to the table. We didn’t have to wait too long for the food and when it arrived, it did not disappoint. The seafood was tasty and plenty of it, the Asian platter was yummy and fresh. The sandwich was huge and tasty. We were impressed with the portion of ten chicken nuggets and the chunks of chicken breast. Throughout the meal Danny was attentive and efficient. He made an impression on our 11 year old who hates eating out as he managed to make her laugh. Amazingly some of our party had room for dessert and ordered the raspberry mascarpone cheese cake which was so light and delicious. Our daughter had the Nutella milkshake which was like a sundae and a drink. We were extremely impressed with the whole experience and Danny is a credit to the restaurant, you don’t often get service like that anymore! We will be returning in the not too distant future!

I have been to Crowded House numerous times & consider it one of my favourite restaurants in Bury but this was my first visit since lockdown. As always service was faultless from the very beginning being greeted at the door. We were promptly seated & ordered drinks. Our usual wine is no longer on the menu so tried the house white which came quickly & was lovely. There were plenty waiting on so were very attentive throughout. We shared the baked Camembert which I often have. Slattery’s bread to dip in garlicky gooey cheesy delight. We were asked if we’d like a rest between courses which I love, a lot of places no longer ask presumably to get you in & out quicker. The main salmon was served with the most amazing mash & delicious creamy broccoli sauce. We ordered further wine & was able to finish drinks sat outside in the covered seating. A great evening & will definitely be back soon.

Wanted to try this place for ages and finally went with friends. The food was boring especially the fish and chips served with mushy peas (no mint) and the triple cooked chips which are expensive (if you get as as a side) are just poor - had better in Wetherspoons, which is a disgrace as they charge £15 in here. Sausage and mash came with no garnish (maybe some pea shoots would be an idea at £14.50?) though the pancetta gravy was nice. Nothing special otherwise. Wouldn’t return as the prices are ridiculous and the service was simply rude when we questioned the price especially when food was returned when it was cold. Would rather go into Manchester which is horrible to say but if you are charging such high prices then should expect a better standard.

We visited for lunch a few weeks ago and found a tasty treat. Cocktails were really nice and the service was attentive - estrella wasn’t the best from the pump it was a little flat otherwise would have given a 5. There was someone complaining about the price of a chips side which they thought was included but we found it to be very reasonable for what we ordered. The staff dealt with the issue well and the manager followed up. Will definitely stop here again it was a good vibe!

First visit to northern craft house and very impressed! Greeted by warm and friendly staff, lovely interior cosy and quirky and the food is exceptional! We shared a baked Camembert and crusty bread which was divine. I then had the steak which was delicious with triple cooked chips and my partner had the buttermilk chicken. Really enjoyable meal will definitely return soon.

Poor quality for the prices, all our plates that had side salad were limp/seemed to be not in date & Unfresh and not appealing to eat what so ever. My main was awful and not cooked properly had to send it back. Was very disappointed wouldn’t return again

Having previously eaten here I couldn’t wait to come back, last time I had a sharing platter but this time chose some Tapas dishes from the small plates menu. Small plates they are not! Portion sizes and generous and great value for money. All front of house staff were smiley and helpful and I love that they wear name badges so I can give Lucy a shout out for fantastic customer service. I can’t wait to visit again and I recommend the prawns!

Having heard plenty of good reviews we decided to give the crowded house a try, we were left disappointed. The starters were OK, that being said its difficult to get melted cheese wrong. The mains were bad, lamb with couscous was dry and clearly reheated in a microwave. The burger was very dry and over seasoned. The 'dirty bird' was ok but charging £16 for chips, fried chicken, melted cheese and sauce is daylight robbery. The food was of very poor quality, the only saving grace was the service, the waitress was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

Enjoyed lunch at Crowded House today. The menu is always packed with great food and there seems to be something for everyone. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and not having to book takes away the hassle of ringing up and planning. The food was great, tasty and good value for money. New menu is out soon so I’ll definitely be back.

Had thought of trying here a few times but had been put off by being unable to book. However, almost passing this week and wanting lunch, made the decision.Went straight for the Asian platter to share, along with fat chips and a bottle of rose.Reasonable bill at £50 I thought and my wife - chip expert - declared them as good as any she had tasted. The platter was as described and very enjoyable. Certainly will return and the owner insisted that although certain times could be busy there was rarely a problem other than a short wait. Good food & good service.

Last night four of us came for a Birthday meal. My Wife and I have been plenty of times and my Wife's Uncle and his Husband (who's birthday it was) as always been many times. They gave us a choice of table, which was nice. It has a great atmosphere and I very much like the style of Crowded House. As always, a warm friendly welcome and overall we had fantastic service last night. A special mention to Maise and Gracie who did an amazing job. I am not sure who's who but the young lady with the dark hair who we got first, was something special and she'll do extremely well in hospitality. She even picked my Starter for me because I couldn't decide. For food, three of us got Starters: Button Mushrooms, Chorizo and Potatoes and then for for, Samosa Chaat. Mains: One got a Cesar Salad and three got the Lamb Korma. The main was nice and the lamb was lovely a tender but it was too spicy for us three. We expected an Indian-style Korma curry but in fact it was a traditional Pakistani dish. Which, was much different to what we thought. If we had known this, we wouldn't have ordered this, so my suggestion would be to write that on your menu or have that explained when ordering. We did get deserts, the Birthday boy had Cheesecake with a lovely Candle and a Card which I thought was a special surprise touch. Two of us ordered the Apple Crumble, which, again, was less traditional crumble and more stewed apples with a crumb sprinkling. But very tasty! My Wife got the special which was Chocolate Cookie Pie, which was very tasty but too big, ha! All round, it was a lovely evening.

Hi we have been here numerous times and it has always been excellent. We went today utilising the "eat out to help out" offer. The food and service was again excellent but from a social distancing point of view it was very poor. Yes, hand gel was provided which was fine and a very good booking system is in place, but the tables are packed very closely together with barely enough room for access for the waitress. On one set of four tables the backs of the chairs were almost touching. The removal of a couple of tables would make a world of difference. It is as if they are putting profit before customer safety. I am afraid we will not be back before the covid situation becomes better, which is so sad for us . But I say again a great restaurant.

My partner and I have visited Crowded House on a number of occasions and it’s about time I left a review as I cannot fault this place. I had the Jamaican patty as a starter; the pastry was light and crispy and it was packed with a delicately seasoned minced beef. It was accompanied by a side of hot pepper sauce and tasty pallet cooling coleslaw. So tasty. For main, my partner chose the fillet steak which was a good size and cooked to perfection. I had the Caribbean Tiffin Tray which was one of the best meals I have had in a long time and consisted of seasoned fried rice, a beautifully cooked fried fish steak, a pumpkin & sweet potato curry and stew chicken. This was like having a gift that kept on giving. The heat level was perfect and each item had its own unique taste. The portion sizes here are so generous but we could not resist the pudding special; a comforting cornflake tart with lashings of hot custard. It did not disappoint. Always a warm welcome here, excellent service, a lovely atmosphere and great food. What’s not to love? Credit due to the owners, the chef and the staff.

We've been here a couple of times and not been disappointed. We went for lunch and I had baked camembert with salad and a whole warm Slattery's loaf! My husband had goats curry with bean rice and dumpling...delish! The bill was less than £27 with soft drinks. Its licenced and very informal, intact they don't take bookings. Its quirky and very friendly. You park on the road or round the corner...it's worth trying it. You dont have to go into Manchester for a good meal...try Crowded House!
