We discovered L'aquila a couple of years ago. In my opinion, pound for pound it is possibly the best restaurant in Manchester.
Without fail the staff are warm, welcoming and attentive, nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, this helps sustain the relaxed comfortable atmosphere.
The menu is reasonably extensive and the food has always been super quality.
It is our go to place for a family celebration, we have even eaten there twice on Christmas day and the experience is everything you would want it to be, we will be booking again for this year.

We had a warm welcome on arrival and were quickly seated at our table. The menu is very extensive and the food is some of the most authentic Italian food we have enjoyed since living in Italy.
We met Kevin who said the restaurant was owned and run by their family offering exceptional food and excellent service in very pleasant surroundings. Highly recommend to all lovers of Italian food.

Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere and lovely staff. Really can’t rate this place highly enough. How have we not been here before?
We had vegans, vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters with us. Regardless, the food was delicious. Don’t know how you make the bruschetta but 😵.
We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone x

I have to say the restaurant is beautifully decorated. The first thing the waitress told us was when we sat down was when we had to be leave by. When ordering the house wine another waiter suggested we don’t choose the house wine as it was watery and better to order a better quality one (more expensive)! The food was ok but we would of enjoyed it more if the waitress hadn’t been continually walking up and down between the tables making us feel on edge. Not a comfortable evening and not how our usual Italian restaurant makes us feel.

What a fantastic night! We love this restaurant, and took advantage of a last minute babysitter to get out for a midweek meal.
We got there and were warmly welcomed by Kevin and the team, and were seated promptly.
We ordered cocktails (which were sumptuous) and a garlic bread and cheese /tomato to share
The food! We got the ribs and the pate, and followed up with steaks. The wife had the steak porcini, and I cannot recommend this enough! I got a rib eye al Pepe which was cooked to perfection.
We finished with Limoncello, and I can't wait to repeat the experience as soon as possible.
Honestly, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It's a family run gem and looks over Heaton Park, which is beautiful in the summer.

It was the first visit to L,Aquila. The food was excellent. I was particularly impressed that the pepper sauce for my steak was brought hot to the table so that it didn’t cool my meal down. The staff were very friendly and service was very good.

Super tasty food! Great value! Great service!
Just returned from a lovely evening at L’Aquila and I would have no hesitation to return and enjoy another really beautifully cooked Italian meal. Lots of garlic ....but I love it! Fish, steaks and king prawns were the choice of dishes at our table and they were all of excellent quality and really well prepared, cooked and presented.

Celebrated my wife's 40th birthday in the private room upstairs, there was 30 of us in total and everyone really enjoyed the night, the food all came out together and was really hot, no complaints from anyone, it was all delicious. A special thanks to both Ed and Kev and also to all the staff who looked after us on the night, really could not do enough they were all amazing, so once again thank you for helping make my wife's 40th a night to remember with all her family and friends. We have been here many times before and will definitely be visiting many times in the future, first glass service and food at a reasonable price.

We were seated by the host whose first words to us rather than Hello or Welcome were “Just so you know we need your table back by 5”. Not the best start but the only thing wrong with the whole day. We were looked after by Anna who was amazing from start to finish. Very attentive always checking if we needed anymore drinks. She is an employee who should be very valued. Now the food, wow. There was 8 of us & everyone loved both their starters & mains. I had the scallops which were delicious & very generous, then the salmon & prawns in a really tasty sauce. Others ordered steaks, chicken, all thoroughly enjoyed. A few had desserts then Anna brought over a mini prosecco bottle for each Mum which was a lovely touch. This is my new favourite Italian & we’ll definitely be back soon.

I scored this very good as the first visit (just over 2 weeks ago) was excellent but let down somewhat by the following visit. On both occasions the white wine by the glass was very limited and even by the bottle not exactly great. On our first visit the food was excellent and the portions enormous. However by the second visit they had appeared to have shrunk. I ordered a chicken dish on our recent visit and it was a very small chicken breast and I asked for the potatoes and veg accompaniment but the potatoes arrived but the veg never did. I ordered a glass of Prosecco but had to ask for it twice as it had been forgotten. The people on the next table fared even worse as their first three choices weren't available. The decor of this restaurant is beautiful and the staff very friendly but I hope this isn't going to be a flash in the pan and the food suffers from their success.

Lovely birthday meal. I have not visited the building since it was previously a pub, the new interior decor is lovely. Helpful and friendly staff, delicious food. Made my birthday special by singing ‘happy birthday’ and decorating the dessert I ordered. Will definitely return with my family.

We have been to LAquila Sunnybank tonight for my daughters 21st . Absolutely amazing place. Food was out of this world for all 20 of us we throughly enjoyed our food . Our waitress Leah was Amazing and nothing was too much for her . Go and give this place a visit you will love it . We all will be back . Thanks for a fabulous night .

Amazing family run restaurant. Impeccable service with very knowledgeable staff and attention to detail. Food was amazing and obviously made with authentic ingredients and passion. I would recommend 100% you wont find a better Fillet Steak in Prestwich.

Always our ‘go to’ if we want a great meal. Huge choice on the menu with varied prices, making it perfect for a special occasion or a nice quick lunch. Always great service to top it off. Highly recommended. Special mention to Bianca for exceptional service

Myself.. My wife and our three young daughters decided we have waited long enough to go and have some family time and was recomended this place by three different people.. I'm not normally one to go off of people's recommendations because I'm fussy in an awkward way(my wife uses different words). Anyway to make a long story even longer we decided to trust the recommendation.. The staff are so polite and just want to please you.. The restaurant is well lit but not intrusive and feels so welcoming and relaxed... The food.. Well it was absolutely amazing.. Yes amazing.. Everything we ordered was above and beyond what we expected.. I can not recommend this place enough... Thankyou for a lovely evening..
