This was the first time my partner and I had ventured out together as she had been shielding because of the virus. We had booked a table outside which was ready when we arrived. The pub is well set up for social distancing with plenty of tables outside if that's your preference. My partner has a gluten intolerance, and the gentleman who took our order was patient in going through the options available on the menu and checking with the chef to confirm any queries we had. Food was excellent and we were so well looked after; looking forward to dining there more often.

This was the first time we have eaten at the "Piggy". We moved to the area late last year and drove past most days to the lovely smell of food. After a couple of visits for drinks we booked a table. The food was as good as it smells! Unfortunately, we had booked a little late in the day and some of the items on the menu were unavailable. This wasn’t a problem as the other options were just as tempting. 2 Adults and 3 Children eating, Both Adult meals were delicious and portion sizes were very reasonable and the children’s meals were fantastic, top quality food and great portions again. Can’t wait to return

Absolutely fantastic! A traditional country pub with a lovely quaint restaurant. This was the first time we had visited and we received a very warm welcome. The menu offered lots of choice and there was even a specials menu providing lots more tasty options. The food was amazing, really tasty and all freshly cooked. Great value too, I had sea bass and my husband had a steak and it was cooked to perfection. I am already looking forward to our next visit!

I am writing my experience only of the food here, Staff were friendly and pub is nice, but we came out for a meal and I do not feel I was served one. I ordered fish of the day and my partner ordered chicken. Both came with "roast new potatoes and veg" So I was incredibly disappointed when the potatoes turned out to be two tiny roast potatoes each, not more than an inch long. The fish portion was also incredibly small. I've looked through the photos on here, and the same meal is often small but none were as tiny as what we got, both the fish and potatoes were literally half the size?. It was NOT a main meal, I would have expected that as a starter. It would cost hardly anything to put an actual portion of potatoes on, what we were served was about the size of a single chip each. The meal was over in two minutes and we left feeling sad and hungry, planning what we could eat later. I'm sorry but nothing else really matters. We paid for a meal, got half of one, and left hungry. I've never written a review for any restaurant before, but I've not felt so ripped off in a long time. We did not order dessert because neither of us wished to be disappointed all over again.

Not a well known restaurant to myself. We went for a father's day family catchup. The staff ere attentive and the atmosphere relaxed. The foot was OK, portions of manageable size but for me quality wasn't quite there. We had a variety of dishes from wagyu burgers to chicken pepper pot. The wagyu burger was miniature I understand it is exspensive meat but the bread and salad overpowered the amount of meat on the dish. The garlic bread was soggy but flavoursome. The seabass was beautifully cooked with plenty of sauce. The staff where very attentive and kind.

Just arrived home from the most wonderful evening at The Forresters. The prices are very reasonable and the food is excellent - I can’t recommend them highly enough! You can choose a bench table in a private hut outside or dine indoors as we did. I defy anyone not to find something they like on the menu and although we don’t live in the area we will definitely be back again

Definitely a 5* rating! The food was fantastic, we ended up ordering starters, mains and dessert it was that nice. Not one complaint from any of the 5 family members. They catered really well for vegans, 2 of us in the party, as well as offering gluten free options, they definitely cater for all dietary needs. It was great to go to a pub restaurant and eat home cooked, steaming hot and tasty food in comparison to the heated up frozen meals a lot of pubs serve. The experience was definitely made even better by the friendly, attentive and great customer service. The garden area is lovely too. It was our first family visit here and we will definitely be returning thanks to Paul and all of the staff at the Piggy 🐷 (All photos are of vegan options)

Standards are as high as ever at “The Piggy”. Had the traditional Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. The lamb was succulent and served with a variety of tasty vegetables. Unfortunately the crumble was sold out but the replacement apple pie was excellent. We always receive a warm welcome from all the staff which creates a nice relaxed atmosphere and look forward to many more meals soon.

We visited here for a Sunday evening meal after making a booking, by phone, the night before. On the Sunday morning, I received a call regarding my booking and asked for the booking time to be altered slightly, but this was done in a courteous manner with an apology regarding the lady who had taken my call on the previous day. On arrival I was given a choice of tables and the surrounding decor is traditional and cozy. Everything was clean, there was a nice atmosphere, and I ordered a glass of wine whilst waiting for my family which came straight away. The wine was good. I asked the waitress about the dishes on the menu as three of my party were vegan and myself, a vegetarian. She did need to get assistance, but a lady, who I will assume to be management, came and helped us with our choices and she was friendly and engaging. For our main course, I chose a vegan burger, as did my daughter in law, and my son had a vegetarian curry. The dishes came with salad and basket of chips that were really tasty, and I ordered a plate of vegetables that were piping hot. Everything was served in good time and was well presented. Now on to the desserts, wow they were a so delicious. My daughter in law and grandson enjoyed the vegan orange sponge with dark chocolate sauce, whilst my son loved the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. But I had the sticky toffee pudding, and without exaggeration, it was the best I have ever tasted ❤️ Lovely service and all in all a very enjoyable evening.

A great pub/restaurant which has a lovely atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, polite and courteous. Food was tasty, well cooked and delicious, all at a reasonable price. Met Paul, the owner and his wife, who were very proud about their pub and told us about their forthcoming events. This was our first visit, but definitely not our last, thanks to everyone. 👍👍

Visited here after reading the excellent reviews. We were staying in the area for an overnight stay. My sirloin steak was more like rump and was pretty tough, it was also rare which wasn’t how I’d asked for it to be cooked. My husband had the mixed grill which was reasonable, apart from the chicken, which was really dry and also tough. I’m afraid it didn’t really come up to expectations, which was a shame. No-one came and asked how our meals were either ☹️

I was slightly disappointed with the food after reading the reviews. I had a Sunday lunch the beef was tough and tasteless, very little vegetables. The two parsnips were under cooked. On a positive the pub is lovely, very clean. Service is impeccable. Would I return , probably not I would go to a nice carvery.

I have driven past this pub many times.,A few people had mention how good the food was so I booked for our family of two adults and two teenagers on my teenage sons Birthday. From the minute we walked in everyone was so friendly. Such a nice warm welcome and accommodating, seating us immediately even though we were early. Our drinks order was taking promptly and the waitress’ very knowledgeable. My fussy teenage daughter wanted Chicken goujons from the children’s menu. The waitress said it was no problem to serve an adult portion. We had Beef roast dinner, Steak and ale pie and the pork burger (along with the goujons) all were cooked to perfection, the veg on the Sunday lunch was delicious. My only regret was we were too full for deserts as I’m sure they are equally nice! Can’t wait to go back. A really lovely experience. Thank you.

Visited here for the first time , for an evening meal. An absolute gem of a place , beautiful inside, really clean and cosy , every member of staff was extremely polite and friendly. We had a couple of beers and a meal , the food was outstanding and I could tell it really was homemade, not frozen rubbish, you really do get what you pay for , however, saying that , the meal was fantastic value for money, and not expensive at all , definitely going to go again and try the Sunday lunch . Oh and the loo's were impeccably clean 😊
