Arrived at this cafe, extremely rude boy served us. Once we got the tea the milk was off..... Had no apology. Waited at least 20 mins for our meal and no one else was in the Cafe. By this time the tea was cold. The boy also made us bread and butter noticed when he brought it his hands were... More

Had the pensioner special, fish and chips with bread and butter and a drink. Very good value for £5.95 and such generous portions.

my husband and myself visited captain scotts and were greeted with a very unkempt, unshaven man who stank of alcohol. the man in question was not wearing what i would say were fit for purpose uniform, wearing a scruffy coat and standing behind the counter wanting to serve us, i was slightly confused as there was another gentleman in chef... Despite Bridlington being a port there is often precious little fresh fish found at many chippies. The main reason is that so many of Brid's fleet spend what little time tied up due to EU rules and quotas. Many fish shops buy their fish from Hull merchants. I was with family and a friend after I did the Brid half marathon. I choose this take away and restaurant. Because it was nearer, and it always looks busy. To eat in you have to go up stairs. Going up it smelt of damp. We ordered and waited. I noticed empty plates. So I thought it must be a... More

I do not understand how or why we ate here today but it was a terrible mistake given the choice available! The restaurant certainly looked in need of an overhaul - the toilet area in the basement was really quite unsavoury, The food was not good - very few badly cooked chips - the fish was ok but the batter... Whilst in Bridlington for the day. We 3 seniors, decided to visit Captain Scotts. after climbing the steps to what can only be described as a place much needing a revamp to say the least. We sat down, and waited a few minutes, when up the stairs came a couple with 2 large, long haired dogs and sat near us.... More
