Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Been living in Bridlington for seven years always wonted to try the lamp in old town Bridlington . So tonight we did started off well with a nice welcome then we ordered and when we got are starters we both had the chicken liver pate...which looked ok but did not really have much flavour at all . For the main my wife had steak and kidney suet pudding when she cut it in half it had one little bit of kidney and two chunks of beef steak was really not worth what it cost ( it was that bad that the lamp could of put it on the menu as vegetarian ) . I had the 10oz sirloin steak with Diane sauce which was ok but not worth the price , then we had sweets I had the strawberry and raspberry Roulade which was a sweet you could buy from Tesco my wife had the cheesecake was just ok but was homemade . Overall me and my wife would not be going back , over price and also the place could do with a good clean their dust on everything and marks on walls , I was a chef for 26 years cooking for very high end customers so my comment are true to my experience .More

We visited The Lamp in Old town Bridlington for the first time after someone recommended it to celebrate my parents 60th Wedding anniversary with the family. The food was excellent and home cooked and the service was also excellent. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I loved it here. The food was good. Lovely and hot with a homemade feel to it. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff who were both friendly and professional. I would definitely go back.

I booked The Lamp for their Tuesday special (Any mains dish for £10) for 14 of us. It was perfect. The food was fabulous, DO try their garlic mushroom starter and, if it's available, DO try their Bailey's cheesecake. The restaurant is lovely - we...had 'the conservatory' to ourselves - with very friendly staff too. We all enjoyed it very much and I am sure we'll be back another time. Thank you for accommodating us - LouiseMore

Lovely food and great value for money. Staff were very welcoming. Decor is a little dated and in need of renovation but didn't spoil a lovely meal, would definitely go again.

We visited Friday 26th May for Dinner and were so pleased we chose this restaurant for our first night in Bridlington. Menu was big enough to choose from happily and every course was fantastic. Well cooked and well presented. Good choice of wines too. We...would happily eat here again if we come back to Bridlington. Andrew and RichardMore

Our first visit to the Lamp last night, relaxed and warming atmosphere. Really friendly staff of which nothing was too much trouble, nice warm bread to eat whilst browsing the menu. Myself and my wife both had starters one of which was from the daily...specials board. Main course my wife had the brisket of beef and I had the belly pork which was recommended by the waitress, both meals where very generous portions and perfectly cooked. Can’t wait to visit again to sample more items from the menu :)More

Had a lovely meal in this small but perfectly formed restaurant. Quite shocked when I got my pork with crackling it was way too much for me then all the vegetables . Then the dessert was brilliant creme brulee yummy . Will definitely go again
