Excellent food and service will definitely visit again

We visited for my son's birthday and we had a great time. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is excellent and the food is delicious. Catered for all of our tastes and offered delicious gluten-free options for one of our guests who has Coeliacs. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Made my daughters 18th very special

Went on the 29th March 2022 for my daughters 18th birthday. The drinks were a bit pricey but no different to any other restaurant of this calibre. They allowed me to decorate our table with balloons, decorations etc before the meal to make it extra special. The meals were expensive but well worth it. When you compare it to 'pub grub' and the price you pay for that, it really was worth the extra spend. Everyone had a different dish (9 of us) and every meal was spot on, piping hot and very, very tasty. Didn't have desserts as we had birthday cake. Staff where attentive and very polite. Will definately be returning at some point in the future and I would highly recommend 👌 👍 😀

Really disappointed as looks lovely from the outside

We have been wanting to try Ariete for a while as the building looks lovely. We went tonight and were really disappointed. They implemented Covid rules which was good but then crammed as many tables in the room as possible which made all the measures they implemented completely pointless! If I stretched out my arm I would have been touching the lady at the table next to me. I would have been happy to pay more money and there have been less tables in the room, it’s quite irresponsible and would definitely not recommend people to go here during the pandemic. It’s the least safe I have felt in a restaurant and I have eaten at a few. The food was large portions but mediocre. I had bruschetta and my partner had garlic mushrooms, we both left a third of it as the portion was too big and it just needed a bit more going on, a bit more garlic or seasoning would have made it better. We both had steak potatoes and veg. The steak wasn’t well rested and the veg had pesto in it which was just weird. I was expecting big things from this place and have left disappointed. A few minor improvements would really have changed the score. Improve the food, smaller and tasty portions and sort out social distancing. We will try again once everything is more normal but wouldn’t advise going at the moment.

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit from start to finish. The restaurant has a lovely warm and welcoming environment with very pleasant staff. We were seated immediately and served by a very cheerful young lady who went above and beyond to ensure our night was the best it could be. Our food arrived promptly, everything was piping hot, super fresh and everything was delicious. Cocktails were superb. For a busy Saturday evening, I was high impressed by the impeccable service by all members of staff from the moment we walked in the door. I will definitely be returning very soon. Highly recommend.

Delicious, authentic Italian

The welcome was very warm and friendly. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and served piping hot. The servings were very generous even though the prices were cheaper than normal. The young lad was very attentive to everyone and got everything we asked for quickly. The restaurant was reasonably full. even though it was a Tuesday, but wasn’t noisy and the room was relaxing and well decorated. A three course meal for two including drinks came to just over £50.

We came for Mother’s Day, son just moved into Newton so we thought we’d try for a change. Staff were nice the young man who was our waiter was very pleasant. Drinks were ok.service was good timing. Now down to the food. My husbands prawn starter was really nice but then my son and his partner had the same but as a main. They were totally different over cooked and no sign of any sauce/liquid. My starter of mushrooms was nice. But my main was pretty disgusting really. I had the aubergine but could not find much aubergine in the dish it was absolutely full of peppers and swimming in oil. I tried to pour the oil off out of the dish into the plate as best I could. I had vegetables given to me as the menu is not printed correctly and quite misleading. Surely this would be best crossed out rather than left? The asparagus was perfectly cooked as was my parsnip (husbands rock hard?) Nice mashed carrots but rock hard cauliflower, not al dente. Sons chicken root was served in a bowl swimming in gravy Deserts were ok A large amount of money was spent on the six of us as it was a treat from my sons I did not like to complain at the time. I did actually tell the waiter it was swimming in oil. For all the people saying it is the best Italian they have ever been to May I suggest San Lorenzo in Warrington town. By far superior. Even the food in Ask and pizza express is better Disappointing, sorry would be reluctant to try again

Food excellent covid safety zero

We were booked in for 19.35 finally got seated at 20.00 . No safety measures were in place apart from sanitiser at the door no staff wearing ppe no social distancing toilets did not appear to be being cleaned or regulated as they should be Every table was being used . Vastly overbooked sheer greed by the owners Now the positives food was excellent the wine was good puddings lovely but a bit pricey However wont be going back till pandemic is over and certainly never on Saturday evening Way too busy #staysafe

Christmas Day disappointing

Very disappointed Christmas day we where booked in for 3.30 pm, 5 of us, waiting in bar area, which was packed, 40 mins after our original time we sat at our table. 30 mins later our starter arrived which tasted good. Another long wait for our main course which was nothing to write home about. Yet another long wait for dessert I had to take lemon meringue back as pastry was burnt black underneath and he even checked it. All that money spent disgusting poor service should be ashamed of yourselves

Disappointed

We came tonight for my birthday meal just myself and my husband. We where shown to our table in a very full restaurant and our drink order taken followed swiftly by our food orders- within 5 minutes our starter was with us and our main meal was brought within minutes of finishing the starter. The food was all lovely, well presented and delicious but would have liked a slower service. We decided to not have a dessert but ordered coffees. We where then approached by a waitress to ask could we move to the lounge as our table was needed- we had been there 1hr 10mins which we explained and she said she would knock our drink off the bill. When getting to the lounge there was no where to sit to have our coffee but then they moved someone to the restaurant and we went in their seats- the seats in the lounge were not comfy. As we paid the bill the waitress once again apologised and we stated there were others nearby who were on their second coffees and had been there longer than us and not been asked to move. She said she hadn't realised that. I can understood if we had been sat at the table for hours but just over an hr is absolutely ridiculous and spoilt what could have been a lovely birthday meal.

We visited as a party of 8 for a birthday meal on a Saturday night. From booking over the phone weeks before the waitress was helpful and advised if we wanted to bring balloons or a cake etc. that would be no problem. Even called a few days before to check we were still on for the same time and numbers and asked if there was anything else we needed from them. The food ordered was delicious and of good quality. There were a couple of issues of meals coming out not exactly as they should have been, but the managers were straight over and personally rectified the meals before it became an issue, and so nobody was left waiting without food/ or others finishing well ahead of others. The two managers on duty went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect for us and to make sure everybody was happy. It must be easy to miss a couple of things when preparing 8 meals all at once (and the rest of the restaurant), but then were quick and more than happy to make sure everyone had all they needed. Just as friendly as the welcome and service was, the goodnight was too. They informed us of their new menu upcoming and said they hoped to see us again - I'm sure you will, we'll be back for sure. An enjoyable meal and evening. Thanks Ariete staff.

Great Italian and stunning building

Visit Ariete regularly and always have great service and food. Surprised to see people comment about track and trace because I’ve always been asked for contact details when I book. The prawn starter is very good and the pizza and pasta are always nice, as well as great value. I know it gets busier at weekends but we tend to go in the week when it is quieter and can’t fault the service.

What a shame and a massive let down

Went last night after a very highly recommended recommendation. On arrival impressed with venue and ambience. Advised by phone prevoius evening having already booked, that our table time had been pushed back 15 minutes. Not a problem. Arrived at 8.00 pm were told a 10 minute delay again perfectly acceptable and went through to the garden to get drinks. Very pleasant garden already a great vibe from customers. The lady taking drinks orders and bringing menu was a great ambassider. Having been asked about alergies went straight to kitchen to check and promptly came back with options. She apologised for any delays. At this point we were still impressed. The order for drinks was taken around 8.40 and were sat at our table around 8.50. This is where our experuence then declined. It was onvious that there was no where near enough staff in the restaurant that was full. The few staff we saw were literally running between tables. We could see many tables waiting to be served or cleared. Our order was not taken untill 9.20. The first course arrived at 9.50 by then the restaurant was only half full and the manager dealing with numerous complaints. The main course arrived 10.40. The poor waiter wad doing his best. Struggled to open the wine, not only at our table but at every one he went to. I even offered to help him open the wine. We we so late to eat we decided not to go to desert etc. What a shame. The food we had was sublime. The setting fabulous. Clearely under staffed. Disappointed that the management were not ciculating to try and smooth out problems. Only seemed to go to tables when customers were complaining. The service we had from the waiting staff was very friendly andc engaging. Such a shame they and the custmers were let down

Excellent food, service & staff

We went on Friday evening 6pm with a party of 7 people. The staff were welcoming and we were served by a lovely, friendly waiter called Salvatori(hope I've spelt that correctly). He was very attentive and entertaining, without being intrusive. Our food order was taken and the food arrived promptly and hot. Everyone of us said that the dishes we had were excellent. It was our son's birthday and we were very touched that Salvatori brought his dessert with a candle in it and balloon, and the staff sang Happy Birthday to him. It was a lovely evening and we will definitely be returning. I would 100% recommend that you give this restaurant a try, You won't be disappointed.

Appalling experience all round

Visited here Friday 11th November after travelling 4 hours to visit my clearly disabled friend. Thought I’d treat him to local, allegedly really, nice restaurant but unbelievable from start to finish. Firstly the ramp wasn’t out and then when asked, the member of staff fixed it incorrectly so I had to correct it. Secondly, we were shown to a table in the centre of the room but I ‘suggested’ out of the way due to his wheelchair. Thirdly ordered when I specifically pointed out that he could not have any gluten or lactose due to his condition and the fact he would end up going straight to hospital, but surprisingly totally ignored as bread was placed underneath his prawn starter. Fourthly main course, I had to confirm there was no lactose as appeared a creamy consistency. This is the moment the manager appeared and apologised for the inconvenience. Ordered brandy and asked for a warmed glass….that never appeared! My friend was recently discharged from a long spell in hospital and this was the first opportunity since pre covid of being able to visit him and for the start of the 7 in 7 challenge in support of MND charity I thought this was an appalling awareness of disabilities and atrocious experience and service. Following this, I experienced an awful night sleep following the effects of the food. I definitely will not be visiting again and have notified the MND charity to endorse their website of them not being disability friendly especially MND.

Poor waitresses attire

Having just visited this establishment with my brother who has eating problemsand Asburgers , I felt we had a mediocre meal and trying to eat strawberries and ice cream from a tall glass was a little difficult. What did upset me was the waitress who served customers with a demin jacket and her hair under no contol whatsoever. I may be old and crotchey, but I have always thought that waitresses should have their hair tied back. This particular waitress did have a hair clip but it seemed to be hanging on to her hair by a thread rather than restraining it. I shall not be returning. I was very disappointed. I've been there before but this was the worst I've experienced
