Great service, check food

A nice venue with friendly efficient staff. One of the dishes we order, chicken tikka and kebabs masala co rained raw chicken. Also, for main our kofta were raw as well. Other food we ordered was tasty. Though I would suggest checking that each dish is cooked.

AQ re visited again

Went to AQ yesterday after a long time The place is nice and clean the staff that we met were friendly The barman /waiter was very good very attentive For starters we had a masala mixed grill This was good value and tasted nice , one exception being one lamb chop was very chewy and could not eat For main we had butter chicken karahi chicken aloo Gobi roti and rice The karahi chicken was nice and tasty the aloo gobi was bland not much flavour and the butter chicken was very tough not good at all We did inform the waiter on this and he gladly cancelled that from our bill which was nice of him Overall starters were good but the main dishes need some work Again a big up to the waiter he was good/ polite / understanding

Great mixed grill

Had an eventful evening night before the England game ordered a great mixed grill starter followed by lamb and chicken curry as well as daal food tasted good and service was great Would visit again

Awful customer service avoid.

Awful customer service, tried to place an order worth £80 lady who answered the phone said she was too busy to call deliveroo. As we were being passed from pillow to post and she wouldn’t even chase deliveroo to find out why it wasn’t taking orders. They use them to deliver but we’re not interested at all. Terrible customer service avoid you have been warned.

Just so you know I've never in 6 and a half years responded to a review but with you I had to as you are the worst customer I've ever had and like I said I've been here 6 and a half years your problem was you couldn't order for a delivery from deliveroo so I said I would take your order over the phone and drop it myself but this wasn't good enough. We tried to help you I don't work for deliveroo and can't control deliveroo if the app are not working. But like I said you are the worst customer I've ever had so please keep away and ask your family to do the same. Kind regards AQ

We Frriends were meeting at African Queen for dinner . The food was good. A few days later I received a parking ticket . I called up the restaurant and they asked me to email them the parking ticket, which I did. I kept calling up to the restaurant to acknowledge the receipt of my email. Connor and other staff members said that It would all be sorted . A week ago I received a debt recovery letter which shocked me. I thought the parking issue was resolved. I drove to the restaurant and met Connor. He said his boss is out of station and it would be sorted . I spoke to Ranj, He said the same thing . I spoke to the Manager today and She said only the landlord can deal with it and he is ill. Everyday , it is a different story.I called up Park and Control and Gemini Solutions . I emailed a gentleman there and he said they needed an email from African Queen to say that I was a guest at their restaurant. I called African Queen back and they said they will do it asap. I have been calling both parties but no one at African Queen can help, not even the Manager. I am not sure what is going on .

Worst mixed grill kebab ever

I had order food delivery on ubereats from this place. Had read a good review about the food, but the actual food was really bad (sorry to say this) worst ever mixed grill kebabs i tried. So dry and no flavour or taste of marinade. All charred and overcooked.

Friends & family enjoying sports with fantastic food

Absolutely brilliant. We came here 4 times during the Euros. A party of 4 adults and 3 children. We canes here to watch the England games with kids. The food was amazing, atmosphere was very nice and calm & the staff were brilliant. We all thank you Team AQ for looking after us! See you soon & keep up the great work

A wet and miserable evening transformed by excellent Punjabi chicken with fresh herbs and scintillating spices, lovely cassava fries on a bed of onions and peppers and great sauce, and delicate cheese nan too. Top notch.

Disgusting Food

The chicken wings were old and smelly. The smell of the meat was like rotten milk... Terrible We also tried the Fish pakora. The oil in which the Fish was fried was definitely old. Strange but AQ had the best food.. What happened?

Ordering for £92 …..all Dishes spicy and don’t have flavour!! Mouth burning and I love spicy but this is ridiculous 🙈 first time order and last !!! free to collect all food - only deserve bin

Very Welcoming and Simply Delicious

this was our first time out for lunch since lockdown began and although we order takeaway from AQ, I decided to take my mum out for a late sunday lunch. The pub has been refurbished and has a really nice feel to it, I was really happy to see other groups of ladies also having lunch. The food was superb, their chilli garlic prawns are to die for and for the main meal, I ordered AQ special lamb and to say this blew my mind with its flavours would be underselling it. The staff are absolutely lovely and we felt very well taken care of. I hugely recommend this place, it is excellent all round.

Interesting flavours and quality food!

I was initially skeptical regarding the new and dynamic flavour combos, but wow did it ever blow me away. Went with mates and we really had a good time and appreciated the service!
