Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Not been to this pub for a while it’s always been very friendly and welcoming. I popped in with a friend to use the toilet and have a quick drink then ended up ordering food. We had the nachos and pizza and both was amazing!...Hats off to the chef homemade pizza was delicious! Would highly recommend coming in, they have a beautiful garden with cute little booths to enjoy.More

Went with kids and some friends for a Sunday roast. Had chicken and beef mix with extra gravy. Their roasts are brilliant and the gravy is some of the best we’ve had. One of our friends is vegetarian and said it was one of the...best veg roasts she has had. Staff are lovely too. Looking forward to our next visit.More

We’ve been going to the Ailsa for many years (off and on). We visited the pub a few months ago and were pleasantly surprised at how busy it was and by the warm welcome we received. We’ve returned regularly and noticed how booked up it...got for Thursday curry night. We decided to give it a go. Wow- the curry was absolutely delicious and great value. Friendly welcome, great vibe, diverse customers and fantastic food, it really makes for a lovely night out. They even like dogs!!More

Had a really amazing lunch on Sunday. The service was amazing and the food is of a really high quality. Its a great place for the family or for a date night. We also visited the Curry night (Thursday) and the choice was brilliant. The...staff are super friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure they meet your needs. Definitely give it a visit, but make sure you book, its well liked and one of the few places that is busy in January. Thanks to Mark, Nick, Jenny & Dani for the warm welcome they provide.More

The Ailsa is an old style local pub which serves a great range of keg beers, it has a large garden which is lovely on sunny days. Mark the owner and the staff give a warm welcome and are super friendly, they recently started a...Thursday Curry Night which serves great curries made by a local lady chef who really know her stuff. It is also great for sporting events and the place gets rammed on Rugby days.More

I have been to this lovely pub in St Margarets (Richmond) several times. It has a nice sunny garden. Very friendly and helpful staff. Watched a lot of the cricket there over the summer and they have several screens including one in the garden. They...recently closed the children’s play area and put extra seating there. They also have also put up a notice asking parents to keep their children under control and not let them run around. Very sensible in the current circumstance, so top marks for that!More

We just turned up at the pub, no issue seating 5. Sunday lunch was great, huge plateful of meat and veg and the vegetarian option was amended to our request without issue. All came out feeling full!!

Great venue! A mixed group (adults & children) met for lunch/baby shower. The Manager, Marc, reserved an area for us & nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the shared platters initially - great variety & good quality and then later ordered a selection from...the menu - pies, burgers, etc.. all served with a nice side salad/vegetables and really reasonably priced. The children in our party enjoyed the garden & the staff really could not do enough for us. We all decided that we really should visit this local gem more often!More
