Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

much as I've seen others state; we were really pleased with the fish, seating option outside, service and drinks being all reasonably priced and with very pleasant and helpful staff. The problem is the chips were rubbish, scraggy and looked and tasted like they'd been...cooked too long or hours before. I think they really need to pick up their game on chips... which should be the easy bit when compared to cooking the fish as well as they do.More

We have been to Sharon's Plaice before so we knew what to expect. There is always a bit of a rush early evening as families come in to refuel hungry kids. Great Fish & Chips. Portions a bit large for me. But made a valiant...effort. Great to have the licenced bar in the garden too.More

Always enjoyed fish & chips historically at Sharon’s Plaice . Been going here for years and was so disappointed last week then we when for Fish & Chips. Considering they are busy , the chips were over cooked, hard and frankly not very nice. We...really should have complained, but once you got your take away box and walked down to the river and sea mouth , we kinda lost all interest in walking back. Instead just opted to bin them. The fish was okay , but again batter was very dark . From my days of frying , either the whole meal was over cooked and or the the oil needs changing . I wouldn’t bother if you fancy fish & chips here , no now . Will not go back .👎👎👎👎👎👎More

Ordered fish and chips for 4 and mushy peas etc. very busy so ordered over the phone. 30mins wait but was fine with that as it was ready when said. Great staff and lovely outside area to eat. Portion size was great. Chips and fish...batter aren't traditional in some ways but tasty. Defo worth a visit if you are in this area and fancy fish and chips.More

Absolutely awful takeaway. I very rarely leave bad reviews but the food was barely edible and much of it was left. A member of our party cut his mouth on the hard, overcooked chips which were more like crisps. Very poor and not cheaper than...average, we’ve never had chips so awful. Whether we caught them on a bad day, I don’t know?More

Great chippy, the chips tasted lovely, better than expected, certainly the best in that area. I felt that there could have been a few more chips, portion size was on the small side, certainly no leftovers. Service was good and worth the wait (20 min...queue)More
