Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent meal but more importantly for us this time, the team and Adam in particular were able to handle several special requests . Thank you!

Celebrating my wifes 60th. Warm welcome. Glass of local fizz to start. Starters: monkfish & mackerel, mains: hake & seabass, washed down with a lovely local white wine. Food was beautifully presented and tasted sublime. Service was great. Lovely place. Will be back.

Lovely small restaurant which we liked. The food was fantastic full of flavour and cooked really well. I had Monk Fish to start followed by Sea Bass and my wife had Pork Belly to start followed by sirloin steak, overall a great birthday meal.

Would highly recommend. We had dinner at the Old Mill Bistro and it was without doubt the best dinner of our week in Padstow (Sorry Mr Stein!). Try the innovative katsu monkfish scampi for starters....all our fish dishes were beautifully cooked and great service. Will...need to book ahead of your holiday as its a small restaurant - but well worth a visit.More

I can see why you have to book early here, a super meal with excellent service. Food is absolutely spot on, we had duck which was cooked brilliantly, nearly all local produce and a great atmosphere combined to make this a really enjoyable dinner -...would highly recommend and book early if you are planning to go, you won’t be disappointed.More

This was our first experience of the Old Mill Bistro and an attempt to find another restaurant favourite within the Padstow area that we visit every year. The food and service did not disappoint, the menu seemed to change regularly, the selection was superb and...the prices very reasonable. We visited with a small dog and appreciated that we would have to sit out in the lovely Mill garden but we didn't anticipate how dark it would get and with limited lighting we eat in the dark or by phone torch, the food looked good, tasted great, but would have tasted even better with a table lamp. My daughter is still raving about the duck ! we look forward to coming again.More

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Old Mill Hotel & Bistro. The epitome of Cornish hospitality, great food and service in a tranquil and timeless setting, just a short hop from Padstow. What a gem and great value all-round!

Always always always meet our high expectations - food is beautifully cooked, the menu varied enough and the service is simply fabulous. We have to visit here when in the area and recommend that you do too. BTW - always sufficient parking in the church...car park over the road and only 50p. And on a nice day, an idea to get there a little earlier and have a drink next to the river.More

This is the 3rd year we have come here as a family for a treat whilst on holiday locally. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, the setting by a little river in a quaint little village is a perfect start. The venue itself is...small enough to make it feel personal and whether it be a romantic meal for two or a small family meal, this caters perfectly. Despite slate flooring, you don't get any cold or noisy feel to the place. I like that they have a picture on the wall showing where they get the main bulk of their food from, and yes it is predominantly local Cornish produce. The produce for the meals it top quality, we went for fillet steaks and Duck for mains this time and they are possibly some of the best fillet steak we have eaten, cooked to perfection and something we still talk about when we eat with friends back home. The Duck came with some fantastic fondant potato and despite tasting the steak my wife had, I was not too jealous, because the duck was cooked and tasted perfect. I had monkfish scampi for the 3rd year on the trot and still cannot get enough of it. Loved how this year it came with a Thai dressing and salad, was worried at first but I shouldn't have been. Other starters we had were the Mackerel, (strangely the only place in Cornwall we had eaten in that week serving it, despite being local and in season) and scallops (always a winner). Had a lovely bottle of Melbec and shared a chocolate desert (wasn't supposed to be shared but I wasn't allowed it all myself when it turned up) and some coffee. I cannot fault this place even if I tried, it is such a relaxing place for such great food. Thank you for another perfect meal. Naturally we will be back when next on Cornwall.More

We had a lovely evening meal whilst on holiday staying in Little Petherick. The staff were very friendly and helpful, all of the food was spectacular and the location is fabulous. We sat outside in the garden, so tranquil. Highly recommended. It's rightly popular so...you have to book in advance.More

Everytime I have eaten here I have found it very easy to get a parking space. The public car park is quite large and is only really used by the public during church Sunday service
