Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When congratulating Alisha the owner for such a delicious meal, she told us that she was closing for good on Saturday 10th September 2022! What a shame.

Loved this meal. The Turtle Bay Sauvignon Blanc was stunning and I loved the lemon posset dessert! Thank you for a lovely evening.

The welcome from the staff and attention to detail in service, ambience and great menu delivers a great experience. Scallops to start, quiye small portion for the price and a nice but little over fatty rib eye for me and delicious salt and pepper squid...and an italian pasta dish for my wife left us overall contented. Price in line with quality and value for money, while some items were unavailable it sounded like a local supply issue. Service spot on Looking forward to next years holiday to returnMore

Our visit was the first since before lockdown, and it was a revelation. The service was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant's ambience very pleasant. The food was excellent, too - cooked by the proprietress's son. We started with mussels cooked in Cornish cider, and...salt & pepper squid - both very good. Our main courses were a lovely seafood linguine with saffron, and crispy duck with a raspberry jus. Pudding was creme brulee (simple but spot-on). Well done Roovrays!More

Ok, before I start I want to say I’ve been visiting Mevagissey for most of my life and I’m ashamed I’ve only just found this restaurant. It’s on the road back from the front, a little to the left, away from the main tourist shops...but well worth the 30 second walk to get to it. I dined here last night with my partner and our 3 girls ( 7, 12 and 13) and what a meal it was. Ok no kids menu, but, that was explained to us when we booked and we where happy with that. (We actually booked after dining out at one of the waterfront restaurants and being totally disappointed compared to last year) Back to Roovrays and how fantastic it is. We arrived and were directed to our table, I’m 6”6 and even though there’s exposed beams in the authentic decor, I didn’t feel at risk of banging my head. The restaurant is small, I think I counted 10 tables in total and unsurprisingly was fully booked all night, I was astounded at how many people were attempting to get walk in tables, the owner even turning away friends that called hoping to get in. A good sign and we’ve not even seen the food yet. Menus were poured over, whilst drinks were served, the lady owner does all of front of house on her own and her son is the chef, a great family team. Our order was taken and we were excited to see others food come out, the presentation was impeccable and we was not disappointed when ours came out. The Mrs had gone for Scallops served with hogs pudding, 2 girls had the tomato and basil brushetta, the eldest chose not to have a starter and I devoured the smoked fish platter. The flavours and colours all complimented each other and the presentation was on point. Now for our mains, all 5 of us chose different, carbanara for the youngest, spinach and ricotta tortellini for the middle, mussels for the eldest whilst the Mrs chose salmon and crab tortellini and myself the mixed fish Thai curry and rice. With the amount of tasting and amount of appreciative noise being made as we each tasted each other’s before concentrating on what we ordered. For those that drink wine, we had a bottle of Pinot Grigio, served well chilled and poured perfectly and was a welcome compliment to our foods. Desserts where 3 brownies with ice cream, an Eton mess and a crème brûlée, another faultless course with everyone happy. I don’t normally write reviews, definitely not long ones but after our experience last night, I felt i must share what a fantastic time was had, the chef is confident, skilled and a talent to experience for yourselves whilst the service is honest, welcoming professional with laughter. Please do as we did and book in advance so not to be disappointed and miss out like so many did last night. Already looking forward to our next visit!More

We have eaten in this restaurant on many occasions and have never been disappointed, the standards of food and service are excellent. We were a group of five all eating different dishes from the interesting new menu,Thai Green Curry, and Jerk Chicken, are two of...my favourites. Mine host Alycia ensures that you receive the very best of service, along with her particular brand of humour, which is absolutely great. Would recommend that you book early, as this popular destination is in great demand, and quickly fills. Looking forward to eating there again, in our next visit to the wonderful Mevagissey See you soon Alycia Eileen and TerryMore

It was okay, reasonable value. However just not comparable to other 4 1/2 star restaurants you will find elsewhere. Some nice dishes and okay service and a good location near the port.

Certainly the best place we ate out at in Mevagissey. Great service and flexible in making some simple healthy food for our youngest eater. Food was fab and a bit different from the usual fare. It was a great end to a lovely holiday.
