Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great little pub, would definitely recommend. We stopped for a drink and a sandwich which was very good. We found the staff to be welcoming and bubbly.

We stayed 2nights over Easter 2024. Accommodation was warm and quirky as you’d expect from such an historic building. The pub is a traditional Cornish fishing village type , with an extensive varied menu and local ales available. There are a few other local pubs...that help add to the overall ambiance of the village. Loads of local shops and a nice walk out on the harbour wall. Finally the staff and management are welcoming friendly and helpful. Great place to stay and very dog friendly, just try not to step on their tails 😂😂More

We were in Mevagissey yesterday and asked about a room at the Ship Inn which they had. Nice celan double room, nice bathroom en suite with shower. Had our evening meal in the pub downstairs in the evening which was lovely. Great selection available and...very nice food. Breakfast was included in the price of the room and this morning we were greeted with a laid table, tea and coffee, fruit juice, choice of cereals and a choice of cooked breakfasts. Absolutely perfect. Staff very freidnly and attentive. I would highly recommend staying here and or eating here to anyone. Its a beautiful old character pub, with ships lanterns for lighting an open fire, with accommodation upstairs. Great pub, great stay, great people. thank you very muchMore

Stayed one night in this lovely very dog friendly pub. The decor is superb, staff friendly and location perfect. Our room was small (as to be expected in a small old building) but perfectly formed. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The...bed was comfy and the bed linen smelt really lovely. Our three dogs were made very welcome! The breakfast was excellent!More

We went for a beer and ended up staying for an evening meal, which was superb. The pub is very dog friendly, unlike “The Fountain” which only allows dogs in th dreary back room bar. The staff were excellent - very friendly and really attentive,...but not in any way obsequious. We had a squid starter (excellent), burgers (superb) and fish and chips (wonderful) as main courses. I was really wanting a dessert (apple and blackberry crumble) but didn’t have room! The food was excellent and good value. We are going back again for sure.More

The Ship Inn is always our usual go to. We love the atmosphere, owners are lovely and down to earth. All of the staff are friendly. It’s a real Gem and a proper traditional pub. Our 3 labradors and toddler are always welcomed with open...arms. We love the food here, the Ploughman’s is delicious! (The beers not bad too!) We like to sit here and relax of an evening out of high season.More
