Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Rude bar staff and over priced drinks. Some drinks eg Prosecco is double the price compared to other local bars and pubs. We had a pint poured which tasted bad so after letting the barman know that it didn’t taste right he proceeded to pour...himself a drink and tell me it tastes lovely also commenting on the fact it was a new barrel. For a round which costs nearly £50 for 5 drinks, other bars and pubs would simply pour another or offer another choice. We are all local to the village and will not be returning.More

Exermely disapointed in the service recieved. The barman was rude and lacked basic customer service skills! When asked about the price of a drink in comparison to rest of the village (double) he blamed the qaulity of other pubs. When a pint was returned for...not looking or tasting right he took a sample of the pint then blamed the customer. In over 15years in the village and being a patron to the numerous landlords and staff at the peterville we have never been treated so poorly! Sadly this includes before the second location was taken on and maybe its down to management taking the eye off the ball!More

We had dinner at the Peterville about 10 days ago and could not fault it. The food was delicious and the service from ASH was impeccable. In fact ASH made our evening!! We're going again this Friday for Steak night and we can't wait.

Wow, this meal, location, service and value for money restaurant has just crashed into my all time top 5 meals. The food was faultless, my wife who hardly ever drinks sunk 3 large glasses of mulled Cider and the waiter ASH was brilliant from the...start of the meal til we left. Best service I’ve had in the UK. If we walk back in again Ash I promise I’ll bring cash to leave you a tip for both nights. Don’t think I’ve had a better experience in the UK. 10 out of 10 all day long!!More

My partner and I came here for our anniversary dinner last night. Johnny was our waiter and he was absolutely incredible. I needed to make sure my meal was gluten free and he was so helpful and accommodating. Johnny was a delight and really made...the night, he was funny and engaging and that made us very comfortable. The food was delicious, we had the steak and the chicken supreme and they were presented perfectly and they tasted incredible. I’ve would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to St AgnesMore

We have eaten here many times and always had a good experience. However, on 1st October, the 1st Sunday Lunch of the season, we visited with Family and were made to feel unlistened to. We ordered the chicken Sunday roast and felt the portion size...was not value for money (£18.50). I know prices have risen but the veg was 2 slices of carrot, a stem of broccoli, small spoonful of red cabbage, 1 parsnip and 2 roast potato wedges with a Yorkshire pudding. There was a small bowl of cauliflower cheese for the 4 of us. We decided to raise our concern and the waitress took it back. 2 minutes later the manager came to the table, telling us that was the portion size and if we wanted more he would charge us for it. We tried to explain our point but we felt unheard, with no attempt to acknowledge or understand our position. I was made to feel as if I had no right to query the portion size or provide feedback. I do feel a revisit of the costing of your Sunday Roasts is required to get the right balance between profit and value for money. A spoon full of veg and an extra potato was all it would have taken but our feedback fell on deaf ears. We sent the lunch back and left. This is merely constructive feedback as the waiting and bar staff have always been lovely and attentive.More

Having spent a few days on holiday in St Agnes, we can honestly say the Peterville Inn has been our favourite place to eat and drink in the village. With each visit, we have been greeted warmly by the friendly staff, accommodating us at all...times and making us feel very welcome . The place is hugely dog friendly, the staff made a lovely fuss of our dog, offering bowls of water and treats for him on each visit. The bar is extremely well stocked and Johnny, as well as being very knowledgable, was confident , professional and very cheerful & friendly on each of our visits. In fact, every member of staff is attentive and professional, particularly Josh and a lovely young man, ( whose name we didn’t get, but has a Wire Haired Daschund !! ) They are all a credit to this popular Inn. Food is served in the dog friendly restaurant and bar area or outside on the pleasant decking. We chose the bar menu, and there seemed to be a good choice of courses at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Thank you guys.More

I would recommend booking everything, although the Green room cafe does not require booking. Peterville, Tap house etc don't risk not booking especially if it's an evening meal
