Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed a fantastic lunch from a brilliant vegan menu. I even had a vegan pudding! A quirky pub with lots of small rooms, a super waitress and a welcoming fire burning. We will be visiting again. Well done to the chef, you are very...talented.More

Upon arrival the venue seemed familiar, and with a bit of "brain searching" we realised we had come here several years earlier on a trip to Perranporth. The pub is still great, and I can see from my previous review that I am a creature...of habit; once more having the fish pie. Other choices were equally good, the pie of the day (Steak and Ale), a lovely children's ham, egg and chips, as well as a vegan stew. The tribute was very nice!More

A lovely old pub, dog friendly, full of character. Friendly staff and wonderful food. A large garden and little alcoves for more inclement weather. Can't wait to revisit.

Fabulous meal here this evening! Pan fried hake with tasty potatoes, spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Service was excellent with great service and a fair price. Would definitely recommend.

A very friendly pub which serves excellent food, at a reasonable price, which would suite most people. It also has a wide variety of drink offerings. Service is excellent and staff are helpful and friendly. Dogs are welcome.

Delicious! We ate here the night we arrived and were blown away by how tasty the food was. We had burgers, scampi and the pork steaks and everything was delicious. We then decided to return for Sunday lunch and were glad we did. The beef...and lamb was so tender and the veggies and roasts were excellent especially the creamy leaks. We had the mateser cheesecake, brownie and stick toffee pudding to finish and everything was wonderful. Staff are also super friendly and helpful. Cannot wait to come back!More

Popped over to this lovely place on Saturday for lunch. It's a friendly and relaxing place selling superb food. We had a cold drink and the Salmon and Prawn on nice thick granary bread, absolutely delicious and filling to.

Excellent Cornish pub in Mithian with plenty of specials on top of a typical pub grub menu. If you have room then the malteser cheesecake is a lovely end to the meal.

Our walking group enjoyed lunch here after our walk from St Agnes Head. We made our choices earlier and we felt very welcome. The meals arrived promptly and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I chose pan-fried hake which was superb, and everyone else...was pleased with their meals. Sadly, we didn’t have room for dessert but I’m sure they would have been delicious. I would definitely recommend this pub if you are anywhere near Michigan.More

How lovely to be served by such friendly, smiling waitresses, thank you so much, you made our lunch very special. We pre-ordered the food as we were a large group. Last minute changes were dealt with politely, the food arrived very promptly and everyone enjoyed...what they had. Excellent service, reasonably priced, good size portions.More

We called on the off chance of grabbing a bite to eat after a full day on the beach. Even though service had come to an end, we were offered a table!! From the minute we arrived until we left, service was brilliant! Such a...friendly team, working in a lovely country pub, bursting with history and character!! Food was outstanding, home cooked food at its best!!! Thank you for such a warm and friendly welcome, I’m off now to polish off the rest of my Malteseser Cheesecake 😁More

Had two lovely meals and staff made us very welcome. Visited with my husband and 3 dogs couldn’t fault the food or service. Dogs loved the home made treats and all the fuss and attention!! Second time was for Sunday lunch which we booked after...our first visit and we were not disappointed. Definitely need to book as gets very busy. Thank you all so much we had a great time.More
