We had been here before and it was perfect in every way! This time we had a little trouble with our reservation which caused a bit of confusion and also messed things up slightly but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful in the matter. The pub had a set Valentine's menu which put a bit of a downer on... More

This is my local. I love this place. The food is always outstanding! From a vast selection of tasty vegetarian and vegan choices to a gluten free selection and of course many fish and meat dishes. They think about every persons dietary wishes. The staff here are so down to earth. Particularly anoushka. They welcome your dog and children. We... More

Proper old fashioned country village pub. Small, real fire, nooks and crannies. Great choice on the menu, well presented and good portions. Staff were friendly, happy and smiley. Very refreshing change from the "beefeater" type pubs. Great place that we will be using more often, can't believe we haven't been before as we only live down the road !

We went here for an early dinner last night. We arrived at 5.30 and were told that unfortunately the chef had had to pop out and he would return at 6. We sat with a drink and were amazed that our food arrived by 6.10. It was delicious and portions were large. For pudding, we had a tasting platter with... More

Had a fantastic lunch at this pub. Went in for a sandwich but after seeing the specials board ended up having Cod with hogs pudding, bacon and leeks. The portions were very generous with plenty of extra veg. Although we didn't really need a pudding I couldn't resist the bread and butter pudding and custard which didn't disappoint! Service was... The worst meal I've ever had. Firstly the gentleman who seated us looked panicked at the place being almost half full, put us in a room and forgot about us for 25 minutes, so we found somewhere else to sit and he seemed upset that we had moved. Anti-pasti starter was ok but very vey acidic. Had a fish special,... More
