The Galley is a favourite haunt of mine and combines excellent quality with the best value in Charlestown. There are several other places to eat but none are as good. Always a great selection of food, which is good for people who like me eat there regularly so I don't have to have the same stuff every time. Especially lovely... More

We ended up in The Galley after leaving the Harbourside Inn along the road - we'd left after seeing they were charging £9 for a jacket potato and £7-8 for a sandwich. More than we were willing to pay! The Galley is an outside cafe with plenty of seating in the grounds and it was very easy for 7 of... More

We have been walking the SW coast path around Cornwall from N Devon and The Galley wins our customer service prize in over 270 coastal miles covered so far. Arriving just as the cafe was closing we were greeted by a friendly smile and tasty suggestions to bolster our flagging energy levels. Delicious warm pasties, coffee cake and flapjack were... More

Oh what a lovely lunch. The staff are brilliant, the service excellent and the food just great. Mugs of tea, the best crab sandwich in Cornwall, chunky bread, loads of filling and tasty. The other customers were raving about the pasties and everybody was smiling.

Fantastic food at excellent prices, with very friendly service (and a lovely photo of "Poldark" on the counter, taken whilst they were filing in Charlestown!)

Stumbled on this place when coming to visit the harbour. It was the easiest place to get in on that side of the harbour with my Mum in a wheel chair. It only has outside tables but the weather was sunny so it was perfect. Me and my husband had prawn sandwiches which were packed with juicy prawns in a... More

We accidentally stumbled upon this place at the start of our holiday and it was so good we went back!! Delicious food (pasties are yummy!) and service with a friendly smile. Add in the dog friendly courtyard and quaint surroundings and what's not to like? A winner for a quick, delicious lunch if you're out and about with family and... More

Not a huge place and outdoor seating in a courtyard but dog friendly and sheltered from the wind and rain cover from sunshades! Lovely hot chocolate and coffee and beautiful pasties!

We chose this place to stop for lunch on our walk along the SWCP from Mevagissey based on the feedback from TA. They certainly serve up a very good crab sandwich, although perhaps they should add in some brown meat as it was slightly drier than I personally prefer. It is a very popular place, so expect to queue -... More

Just a little walk up the street from our hotel, we found the Galley. Well its lucky we stopped in for a look. We ended up having one of the best Cornish Pastie that i have ever had. They also have a great selection of sandwiches, and homemade cakes. I've been searching for a similar pastie here in Aus since... More
