Had homemade ice cream at this period ice cream shoppe and it was worth every bite. Situated in a 1800s town along Rideau Canal. You couldnt ask for a more interesting and unique experience. Neighbours are art, antiques, specialty shops and located close to the US border.

Stopped in for a couple of cones and were blown away. First they had Blueberry ice cream which is hard to find. The ice cream had a great taste and texture. Definitely premium stuff. The size and the price were more than fair. It's a must visit when in Merrickville

We ordered three different flavours of ice cream from the Downtown Ice Cream Shoppe. The "toasted almond" was bland and tasted mostly like vanilla ice cream. Ditto the "rhubarb" - it was essentially vanilla ice cream with some stewed rhubarb mixed in to it, I think. The "mango" just tasted like any "orange-coloured" ice cream - it could easily have... We heard that Merrickville had a great little shop that serves homemade ice cram so we decided to give it a try. Well it was a sweet treat to beat the heat of a hot summers day. The fact that it was homemade made the trip well worth it. I'll give this place 3/5 cherries

Locally made ice creams, sherbets, and chocolate truffles always hit the taste buds in the most delightful way at this quaint shop in Merrickville. There are some traditional favourite flavours along with unique pairings of things that you may not associate with ice cream, like beer and pretzels, or ginger and cayenne. For the daring or the not-so-daring, if you... More

The best gelato and ice creams all made in house with as many local ingredients as possible. Even the waffle cones are pressed and rolled in the quaint and whimsical parlour. If you are at all a rhubarb fan, the rhubarb caramel sauce is a must have!

This is a charming Candy Shop to pickup some old-time candy, chocolates and "homemade Ice-cream"...or is it? The ice-cream is actually only process ingredients (pre-made) and prepared for fresh presentation. I was disappointed after inquiring how they made their "homemade ice-cream"...certainly not how Grandma made it!

Right on the Main Street of Merrickville, this little spot is easy to find. My husband had the strawberry & I had the rhubarb. Truly excellent ice cream. Highly recommended.

This place is a must see while in Merrickville. The flavours are wonderful and don't forget the meat pies available in the fall
