On a par with Joy's store (middle beach road) except this also sells burgers and chips. Joys probably has a better clothing line and slightly better range of general groceries and veggies

This is a true general store with a little bit of everything. The food is very basic. Interesting to visit but would go to Top Shop for any fine products and fresh vegetables.

With little to do we wandered into the Thompson's General store and were amazed at the stock pilled high up on shelves reaching (almost) to the roof. After chatting to the manager we discovered that the store had everything one could even think of to buy from the odd screw to the Huggies nappies. It was explained that the supple... More

We were told by our hotel staff that this was the place for burgers and they were spot on. The burgers were fantastic.

This is a great little shop. Nice little trinkets and clothing available. Good selection of groceries available too. Fresh salads made to take home too. We had the Potato Salad and it was good. We also ordered the Crom Burger and it was fresh and probably the best burger we have ever had. The people here are more than willing... More

Once we had tried a burger for lunch, we found it quite dificult to go past again, so in a week we managed about 4 lunches there. Good variety and tasty burgers. Friendly staff and great service. Close to where we stayed at Oceanview and handy for food supplies.

Great hamburgers & snacks. Have a coffee or a drink under the outdoor sails, & just spend a quiet hour or 2. Plenty of souvenirs & clothes to choose from. You can even book a fishing excursion on the lagoon with Crom who is an excellent guide.

Thompson is one of the original families who settled on the island and they can trace their ancestry back for several generations. The store provides all the basic needs although at a price. What must be remembered is that everything is either brought by ship or air and the cost of freight makes everything a lot more expensive. It's a... More

This store can certainly provide for most of your needs. We used it to pick up some food and alcohol supplies and purchase souvenirs. There was a good range of souvenirs (albeit your usual wares). The Visitor Information Centre has a small range of more upmarket souvenirs and at Jenny's Place you can find some lovely hand made items which... More
