These dogs are amazing! The chili sauce makes them the best in town. And when you come in to visit, you cannot leave without ordering their famous sundowner.

Have eaten here many times over the past several years. Good sundowner and decent dogs. The sauce is what makes it for me. Cheap lunch or dinner. Have yet to try breakfast.

I heard about this place from a friend who grew up in Johnstown so when on a visit we stopped in. They no longer stack the buns up their arms (as health code standards have progressed since the 60's) but I'm told the dogs have remained the same. I think this place fits in nicely to the late night buzzed... More

Must try the Sundowner. It is a local favorite. Hot dogs are of course a must but must try them the Coney way with their famous chili.

I grew up in the Johnstown area and enjoyed many hot dogs and lunches their. The sauce is an old family recipe. We always met their after dropping off our dates. To give you an idea of how old I am , hot dogs were 7 for a dollar and a Coke was 15 cents. This is a must stop... More

On my last visit to Johnstown I took my son-in-law and my other daughters boyfriend to Coney Island for a couple hot dogs. The people there are very nice and I love the hotdogs with their special sauce. As other reviews have stated it is laid out as it was in the 1960's but that's how people like it. I... More

Great no frills hot dog / hamburger spot that's an icon in Johnstown, PA. Ask anyone in town where they can get a good hot dog and they'll tell you Coney Island. Try the "sundowner" which is a hamburger with a fried egg and chili on it. It's the best place to eat after a night out.

Nobody comes here for great food, but great atmosphere in a "greasy spoon" atmosphere doesn't get any better than this. It's open in the wee hours and a wonder to behold, especially when they pull out those dogs....slather on the onions and chili and then serve 'em up! Wow! Ya gotta love the traditional, old school hot dog stand....worth going... More

Coney is "one of a kind". It's not fancy, it lacks any theme. It's character is that it has none. The seating is old, the paint is old, and the employees are old. You will find everyone there are lunchtime or after a hard night of drinking. The loaded dog with onions will stick with you for days. The sundowner... More

Wife and I have been coming here for over 15 years. A hot dog and hamburger joint with fresh toppings and good hot dog sauce. Don't expect to be dining high class. Rather a retro place to grab basic tasty grub.
