Have been coming to Carrs for years and it feels so comfortable and, well, just right. Went there Friday night for a pre theatre dinner. We weren't very hungry so went light. I had the small caesar salad (I like their dressing so much that I buy it at Central Market to use at home) and the Tuna Tartare which... More

Had dinner there last night in the cellar bar. I had a very thin dry piece of salmon in a bowl with noodles was to have mushrooms according to the menu but 2 little mushrooms was not worth putting on the menu. My husband had lobster ravioli not worth the price of $ 28 for each bowl. And no bread,... More

Carrs is a mainstay in Lancaster, and for the most part, they deliver good food in a nice atmosphere. This week they opened an upstairs dining room, and our experience there was far less satisfactory than previous dining experiences at Carrs. The new dining room is very noisy - even though it was lunchtime and only partly full, the room... More

We met friends here located in the lower level of a local department store owned by the former Hager family and now on the National Register for Historical Places. It is indicative of fine dining and we ate in the back room which is quiet and gives you quite a view of their wines. We ordered entrees from A Taste... More

We were a big tour group of 26 people. so had a limited menu. The service was absolutely wonderful -- and the food was equally as wonderful. I had the NY strip steak and it was delicious. It was also served hot, which made a nice change from many other places we've eaten (where the food has come out lukewarm)... More

Veal piccata had no taste. Apparently tomatoes were used instead of the usual or traditional capers and lemon. Meatloaf was satisfactory and good. Waiter did not provide the service we expected from this restaurant which had been highly recommended. For the price we paid, we could have had equal food at a local diner.

Had a great meal at Carrs. They can handle anything from a group of 25 to a romantic dinner for two. We had a group of ten and were seated in front of the wine room. So fantastic. Loved the atmosphere and the quick service. We were all going to a theatrical production and they served us in speedy time.... More

I've visited Carr's several times while living in Lancaster, and every time, the food was spot on, delicious, and beautifully presented by a friendly wait staff. It's high end and priced accordingly, but definitely worth the visit. It's small, so make sure you call or check the website for instructions.

We went back there again for our Anniversary. We had Bud as our waiter and he was great. We took advantage of his recommendations and loved them. The drinks were great, Lemon-Drop Martini and Mojito. I had the 8 oz. filet mignon ($34), which was done perfectly and was delicious. My husband had the Seared Scallops ($32) over a bed... More

Had a number of recommendations and reading TripAdvisor Reviews we decided to try Carr's. Normally we try relocations for lunch first but the reviews made us fell confident that it would be good. We were not disappointed, although our plan was to arrive early and have cocktails at the wine bar. Unfortunately the wine bar was closed for renovations. There... More
