One can tell where quality food is being served by the full car park and lines of cars along the roadside. We arrived at 2.15 to find the place full of eager diners , some still in line waiting for a table for their Sunday...lunch. We were met by the friendly, helpful staff and shown to our comfortable, clean room which was amazingly quiet. We chose to dine at 6, swiftly shown to our table where a delightful, extremely helpful and informative waitress took our orders throughout. Well done to whoever chose Brooke , she is a credit to the business. At the helm is Shane who produced a happy, caring team to ensure everyone enjoyed their stay and is also a perfect choice to run the place being attentive, friendly and easy to talk to. The choice of steaks was very impressive, as was the quality and quantity provided by a very clever , hard working chef with his kitchen staff. Huge plates of amazing food proved to be a feast for the stomach and the eyes, so beautifully presented and so much choice! Despite their busy jobs all the staff worked as a great team thus ensuring all the diners could relax without feeling hurried. We decided on 9am for breakfast and once more lovely, freshly cooked breakfast. Next time we will stay longer. 5 minutes down the road is the Silent Pool, a walk around here is enjoyable. The Silent Pool Distillery offers tours but not Mondays. Other places of interest to visit easily by car from here is Jane Austen's House, Watercress Line steam train, Gilbert White's House and the fabulous Watts Museum, art gallery, crafts and shops needing 2 hrs to enjoy the highlights. You will not regret choosing The Percy Arms and you will leave feeling as happy and content as we were.More

Stayed on a Saturday night recently , and took dinner as well. The room was comfy and very quiet. Stayed in no.5 towards the rear , the one showing in the venues bets shots for their advertising. ( free standing bath at the foot of...the bed etc) Food in the evening …we took the South African specialities, specifically. The shared starter with chicken wings, pork rack of ribs , a small Bobotie and Boerewors. Mains were a large Bobotie ( quite bland) and Bunny chow ( tasty meat curried stew ) . Overall a pleasant meal but would stay with more traditional steaks etc in future. Breakfast next morning was a full English, tasty again. Would visit again.More

The Percy arms has left such an amazing mark on me and my partner it’s beautifully run we went for our anniversary and the little touches they did were so lovely with our Evan asking them too. The place is absolutely beautiful through out and...the beds are the most comfy beds I’ve ever slept in!! As soon as you arrive you have such a warm welcome and the smell you can smell from the kitchen is unreal. We also had dinner and breakfast. The steak I got to pick before they cooked it and it was incredible! We also stayed for breakfast yet again amazing! We can’t wait to return to this hidden gem!!More

I had heard great things about the food in this pub. So decided in the way back from Godalming we would pop in for a light lunch. As usual , with a lot of pubs in Surrey the lunch menu is very limited if you...just want a sandwich. We both choose the Prawn BLT, which seemed very unusual but worth a try. Was extremely disappointed the bacon was like trying to chew through shoe leather and not worth risking your teeth. The few prawns we had were cut in half and I would say, bein g generous 10 Halves in total, no butter and very limited lettuce and tomatoe. We did point out the bacon and were told this is how it should be crispy, it wasn’t in anyway crispy just very tough. The sandwich would have been better just sticking with prawns , why on earth do you need bacon A Sandwich with mayonnaise adding bacon does not add any thing to it apart from a hefty dental bill!!More

The most disappointing meal possible. Service was awful, chips were indigestible and the ‘salad’ was a couple of dry leaves on the plate, ribs were tasteless and dry. When explaining to the waitress we were not happy she said she would speak to the manager...and did not come back for another 20 minutes and we were offered a £10.00 discount even though half our meal was inedible. Massively disappointed, will not be going again!More

We booked B&B at the Percy Arms. Communication before we arrived was good and very quick. We loved our room - spacious and very tastefully decorated, with coffee machine and tea. Lovely big shower and fluffy towels. Breakfast was very tasty - we had the...full English and the poached eggs and avo on toast. We decided on the spur of the moment to eat at the pub the night before. We had a steak and the hake, followed by sticky toffee pudding - everything was delicious. The staff were friendly and we were made very welcome - we would definitely stay again.More

Visited for the famous Sunday carvery. We'd booked in advance which is a must because the place is so popular for a Sunday lunch. Service was prompt and friendly without feeling like we were being rushed. Four of our group had the carvery - all...complimented the way the meat was cooked and the sides that accompanied the roast. I had beef, lamb and the tagine (a fancy word for the potjie, though it did taste more like the Moroccan dish than a potjie, still delicious though). They do two sittings on a Sunday so we had a gentle nudge at about 2:30 that the next table was due in but we didn't feel like we were being rushed but more just a word to the wise for anyone who wants to stay and linger over a coffee after eating enough food for a week.More

Gem of a local pub with rooms. We have stayed twice recently and the rooms are so lovely, warm comfy very stylish and well decorated with modern bathrooms - some rooms have baths in the bedroom which are fabulous. Excellent value for a stay. The...pub is also great with delicious food and friendly staff. We’ll be staying again and can’t wait.More

It has been a while since I was made to feel humiliated by a member of staff for asking if it was possible to swap bacon for pickles in my burger. He continued to preach in a condescending manner that they were not a McDonalds....To be absolutely honest I have had much tastier McDonalds burgers and without a portion of bad customer service. It really made me feel uncomfortable asking for anything there let alone enjoy our family birthday meal. Not that the food was that enjoyable - bland and my burger tasted of horse meat (or something other than beef for sure). Or maybe it was my unsophisticated pallet again. It felt like that staff member was so in love with his own voice that he had to repeat the same stuff multiple time as if we were idiots, yet he forgot to actually bring our pre-meal snack before the meal arrived. To be fair, he did apologise and offered it on the house (about 4 times, as if we were to be grateful for a £2 portion of nuts.). If you are looking for average food, rude staff and poor service, then try this place.More
