I have been here several times over the last four years or so. I have never had a bad meal here. Correction... I have never had a meal that was anything less than great. The first time I stopped in was when I was nearby...More

Although the decide is definitely low-country casual, the food is outstanding. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and attentative. A bit pricy but the menu changes daily offering dishes based on local ingredients.

We went to this restaurant after seeing it featured on Food Network out of curiosity. The outside of the building is one that you would probably pass up just by looking at it, but it is truly the epitome of "don't judge a book by...More

Was in the area and made a quick decision to come here. It was a great decision! The fried tomatoes with pimento cheese was fantastic and the pork belly melts in your mouth!! Wish I lived closer!

This semi-sit-down restaurant is convenient if you are heading into Charleston on US 17. The food is very good and ample. One orders at the counter, takes a seat and the food is delivered to your table. Although they had portable air conditioners to try...More

Sorry I only see your question now. If I recall, the meal was around $18, and a drink about 3. Add tip, about $25. I came out with the impression of having had a good bargain.

Description
The Glass Onion is one of Charleston’s original home grown, locally focused, all-natural restaurants. Owner and Executive Chef Chris Stewart opened the restaurant in 2008 with fellow culinary colleagues. It was one of the first places in town to support local farmers and purveyors with almost every dish and drink. An eighth generation Alabama native, Stewart’s love and appreciation of southern food shows through his menu. His restaurant boasts comfort food that reflects his time growing up in Alabama, as well as New Orleans and Lowcountry influences. The ever-evolving menu changes daily and features as many local, all natural, hormone-free ingredients as possible. The soulful food draws influence from Stewart’s southern heritage and family recipes, especially from his grandmother Jennie Ruth; and is available for lunch, dinner and Saturday brunch.
