Friends told us about this place. We checked the menu and decided that we would have lunch there. We were seated immediately, ordered soon after and waited for almost a half hour for sandwiches! Apparently there was a staff problem that occurred and they were trying to work it out. Our food finally showed up. It was very good, filling... More

Loved the food and atmosphere was great. I would suggest anyone who loves fresh seafood to make it a dinner stop.

We were only able to get a 430 reservation on open table, yet when we arrived at the restaurant it was nearly empty through 530 when we left. We asked if we could have a booth and the hostess said they were reserved. But again, upon leaving at least two were open. The meal was very good and the server... More

Oven baked oysters and tuna tacos were delicious! Kids had fried shrimp and cheeseburgers. All in all it was a great night with great service! Did not think we would be able to take the kids, but the hotel recommended it. It looks fancy and hip, but was kid friendly. Had a pasta dish, grilled cheese, cheeseburger and fried shrimp... More

We went to Amen Street for lunch based on a recommendation from a business down the street. The restaurant seems fairly new. It is nice and airy, with old brick walls, wood floors and high ceilings. The atmosphere was terrific and the tables were not crowded together. We were seated right away, but had to wait several minutes before the... More

Very good oysters and fantastic dinner! Where this place excels is service. Waiter knew what to recommend, explain about the menu and make sure we had exactly what we wanted - no more, no less. Don't miss the key lime pie for dessert!

Had lunch there today with friends. They had a fairly wide variety of fresh oysters available which were quite good. Started with Fried Green tomatoes which were about average. Others tried their shrimp and grits and fried shrimp which were also good. Casual atmosphere with good service. Overall it was a good but not great experience.

One of the worst, really! No flavor and a limited menu. Also out of what we wanted. Do not recommend. So disappointed!

We are seafood lovers, so we were anxious to try Amen after looking at their menu. My husband had the blackened triggerfish with fresh asparagus and his dinner was delicious - I love shrimp and grits and I was not disappointed with their spicy, tomato-ey version with plenty of shrimp. Mary Kate took great care of us.

Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.
