Fried chicken is made to order so you will wait a few minutes. If they have fried green tomatoes then order them! They are the best I've ever put in my mouth! The trick to getting a great meal here is knowing what to order. This is a typical meat and three but some things are only so-so. If you... More

I'm always on the lookout for small, family restaurants. Was driving through Simpsonville and saw the sign stating that if your homeless and need food to come on in. Decision made - this was the place for lunch. The menu is not huge....BUT it's a great one. We chose a meat and three....I got fried chicken and my daughter ordered... More

And when i saw the sign about if you're homeless come in and have a meal on us, I knew this was a place I would have to try. I did and it was great. Now when I have a lunch date with a friend Zamorah's is my first choice. Really good "soul food" (we just called it "food" when... More

Down home cooking. Food is simply delicious. I really love their chicken livers. The sides are really good also. One of the things I like about this restaurant is the people. Kind, considerate and nice. Outside the restaurant is a sign that says"If you are Homeless and need a meal come on in and have one on us". You'd never... More

Sorry for the pic of half-eaten food, but I wanted you to see how moist and tender the baked chicken was! Saturday afternoon lunch with my mom and the food was great! Staff was friendly and the downtown location was really cool. Hope you give it a try!

The people are friendly, the food is soul food at its best and the hearts of the proprietors really set this place apart (they give free hot meals to homeless).

Fried squash, okra, mac and cheese, fish, meatloaf are all delicious. The desserts which are usually included with a meal are also good. The lemon pound cake is my favorite. Good home style cooking.

Description
The BEST "Food for the Soul " we have ever had! The fried chicken was hot, crisp, moist and beyond delicious. I had the cornbread, homemade, moist and wonderful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were as good as my mother ever made. My husband had the meatloaf with a side of mac and cheese and cabbage. We almost argued over his mac and cheese-it was so rich, creamy, and cheesy I wanted to eat all of it! The meatloaf was moist, tender, and full of flavor. Service was excellent and the cake we had for dessert was divine! This is a MUST stop for lunch and was locally rated "the best meat and 3 sides in the Upstate" and we believe it! This place will be a favorite of ours!
