This was a return visit to the Walpole Arms and as such is was disappointing. The service & ambience are excellent, the food is not up to that standard. Our shared portion of deep fried calamari rings with chilli sauce got us off to a...More

We visited The Walpole Arms after having been recommended by some friends. It was simply delightful. We hadn’t booked, although I would recommend doing so, particularly over the weekend as they soon fill up. My family and I all had a selection of tasty food...More

We were a group of 3 on holiday and this was to be a special meal, but how disappointed we were. We were told of a wait for food of 25 mins, which would have been fine, but an hour passed before we were served....More

While visiting Norfolk we had a family meal in The Walpole Arms last week. To start with we were seated in what felt like a cold barn. No heat on. We waited over an hour for our meal which definiitely wasn’t worth the wait. One...More

Came across this pub whilst visiting nearby National Trust properties & staying at the Gunton Arms. Charming staff, immaculate gardens & spotless bar areas. Only stopped for a light lunch which was beautifully presented with first class ingredients. Lovely setting, off the beaten track but...More

This place is in an idyllic English countryside setting off the beaten track. Lovely gardens, chickens wandering around, quaint and atmospheric interior. The staff are pleasantly discreet but attentive when required and all are lovely. The food (locally sourced) is exceptional, the sirloin of beef...More

Description
The Walpole Arms, Itteringham, dating back to the 18th century is a traditional country pub, sitting within the heart of north Norfolk's picturesque countryside in the village of Itteringham. Itteringham stands on the River Bure, four miles north west from the market town of Aylsham and just two miles from the National Trust's magnificent Blickling Hall. We pride ourselves on offering an innovative and exciting menu, preparing dishes using the highest quality, locally produced, seasonal ingredients. Our traditional bar area is full of country pub charm, with a wood burner warming up cold winter nights, welcoming both diners and non-diners alike, whether it is a pint of one of our many real ales such as Woodfordes Wherry, Adnams Southwold, a glass of wine from the extensive wine list, or a meal from our a la carte menu.
