During our week-long visit to Jersey we dined one evening at Longueville Manor for a very special birthday. It was just the right place for such an occasion. The menu was short but everything on it looked enticing. The wine list, by contrast, was extensive but we were in no way pressurised to choose one of the more expensive bottles. The meal was exceptional. Every item was perfectly prepared and presented and delicious. We experienced the best service we have had in any restaurant. It was not too formal and certainly not stuffy, but perfectly judged. By the end of the evening we felt that we knew our waiters and they knew us - and yet they had not been intrusive. They had just given suggestions where needed and been pleasant and welcoming. Unfortunately the weather on the evening we visited was very wet. Otherwise we would have enjoyed having a look round the grounds.

Pedro and his team looked after our party exceptionally well. We were seated in the beautiful bateman room and had excellent service from all the staff. The menu selection was perfect and the food was presented and served to all our guests without delay. A fabulous evening with friends and a stunning venue.

During our recent visit to Jersey we arranged to meet a friend here for afternoon tea. The Longueville Manor is, of course, a stunning venue and the staff are charming, polite and efficient. However our actual afternoon tea I found a little disappointing. It was the traditional format of a small selection of finger sandwiches, a couple of scones each and some pastries. The sandwiches were fine, although given the amount of sweet stuff included in the menu, the offer of another sandwich, to counterbalance, would have been appreciated. At a similar afternoon tea that we had in Claridges, we were not only offered refills of tea, which we did get at the Longueville, but we were also asked which of the sandwiches we liked best and if we would like a couple more. The pastries were very nice but what should probably be the centrepiece of any afternoon tea, the scones, were disappointing. The scones were quite solid and the jam, the flavour of which I'm afraid I just could not identify, was so runny that it was impossible to properly spread any of the clotted cream, which was extremely hard, on it at all. As we were entertaining our friend, these were not things that I felt I could mention at the time but, at £30 a head, I felt it could have been better.

If your a foodie and you love excellent service then you will really enjoy Longueville Manor. From when you first arrive until the moment you leave you are spoilt with just the right amount of attention. The knowledge of the sommelier is incredible introducing you to wines you may not ever try and matching tastes of the client to the wine which also compliments the food. I love cheese and their “board” it’s extensive and beautifully presented ( something rarely seen these days!) with fabulous goats cheese to perfectly ripened soft and gorgeous hard cheese. There really is something for everyone! I highly recommend a visit.

We recently visited Longueville Manor for my wife’s special birthday and our anniversary and we can’t praise the experience enough! From the moment we arrived and were greeted at the door by the concierge, to the moment we were presented with a small birthday cake, some petite four and chocolates, served on saucers wishing us a happy anniversary and my wife a happy birthday, piped in chocolate. The staff were amazing from start to finish, everyone of them: the concierge, the receptionist, the waitresses and the waiter who helped us select our cheeses from the plentiful selection…. A-Maz-Ing!! The food was stunning and although we didn’t actually see the chef, we’d like to thank him too. A fantastic evening, thank you all!

Freezing cold in lounge and dining room. Food very average. Scallops over powered with tomato sauces and other pieces on plate. No roe served and small scallops quite chewy tough. Main fish course very tasteless except samphire which was OK.

During Covid-19 it was lovely to be able to enjoy an extremely good lunch in the most perfect setting in the grounds of Longueville Manor hotel and restaurant. Staff there when you needed them but keeping their distance as must as possible. Tables set aside a good distance apart, making it feel very safe. After a very relaxing lunch we walked around the grounds and visited their fruit & vegetable gardens. Well worth a visit as they really look after them. Will be going back very soon. Unfortunately forgot to take a photo of our Lobster, crab and prawn salad which was a shame as it was so pretty and yummy. Well done for opening up and still making the experience special as can be. Love you all

Came here with a party of 8 for my birthday. When booking wanted to confirm any dietary requirements and anything extra we would need. The day came and treated so well by all staff. They have booked us a lovely cozy room to have our pre meal drinks (log fire was a nice feature) . Staff were always making sure we were ok but not pushy at all, sometimes just a glance in the room. Food was incredible (catering for dietary requirements with a pre made alternative menu). Service was impeccable. We sat on the large round table which was great for a large party. I was even treated to a Longuevile mug as a birthday present! Thank you all so much was a brilliant day.

Very disappointing! I made the mistake of ordering yesterday’s special - the beef wellington. I was advised it would be served medium rare. What I received was a cold, rare piece of beef wrapped in a spongy kind of eggy pancake mix and soggy pastry. The vegetables (if I can refer to the 4 batons of carrot, 2 sprigs of calibri and 4 french beans, as such) were all dente to the point of being almost raw, the barrel cut roast potatoes were the only decent thing on the plate as they were at least hot but even they lacked crispness. The red wine just was watery and lukewarm. This was far from the quality expected for a single dish priced at £42.50. The rest of the meal - starters and deserts were well presented and tasty but nothing special. The service was on the whole courteous and professional but at over £100 per head this experience left me feeling very disappointed. I will not be rushing back and I doubt I will be recommending Longueville Manor to friends and colleagues.

This is the first time my husband and I have eaten at Longueville Manor, although we have been to Jersey many times over the years, we have never thought of eating at this Hotel before, and we were so impressed with this beautiful Hotel, the grounds are really lovely, as is the kitchen garden that David looks after, very impressed with the variety of salads and vegetables that are grown there. The Hotel itself just radiates old fashion luxury, and very comfortable with excellent service, If you like fine dining, this is the place to come. We started off with drinks around the pool, which was lovely before going into the beautiful restaurant, the waiter service was excellent and they were so friendly. The food that was cooked for us was absolutely wonderful, it was the best meal that we have had in a very long time, and we shall certainly be back. I was given a copy of Andrew's cookery book, Recipes from the Sea, which I have already tried out, such a lovely book and easy to follow recipes. So a big thank you to Andrew Baird and staff.

Lovely old hotel in beautiful gardens with a heated outdoor pool which we made use of. The service was impeccable and the room luxurious. The breakfast was one of the best we had ever had and the dinner also excellent. We could walk easily into St. Helier which was a bonus as the parking there is very difficult.

Reasonable evening out. By and large good service, though if you are going to serve the wine for customers then make sure you do, we waited 10 minutes for our wine to be refilled from the decanter. As soon as I got up to do it myself a waitress came running over, the same waitress that had walked past our empty glasses 4 times, though she wasn’t the only one and at least she apologised. The table was in a bit of a blind spot which didn’t help and the staff took it on board and made sure it didn’t happen again. That aside the service was good and friendly. The wine and cocktails were excellent. The food was a bit underwhelming for such a quality establishment though nothing I can put my finger on. By and large good but not great was the overall experience.

Food, wine and service here were top class as you would expect given it's reputation. We had quail and scallops to start and cod for main course. Then soufflé dessert. All were superb. The cocktails and wine were also good - we tried the Pelopennese white which went well with the fish and an Australian Riesling dessert wine recommended by the sommelier.

Food was very good, especially the sea bass which was perfection. We felt the barman should have not joined in our group's private conversation while he poured our drinks, and we found the Greek sommelier to be brusque. The South African waitress however was a delight - we all thought she got it just right.
