Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a wonderful Spanish tapas restaurant. When we visited it was absolutely packed, and clearly popular with both locals and visitors. Our server - a young WOC - was really friendly and made us feel at ease immediately. We started off with what was...an excellent negroni and salted almonds. We then had a selection of tapas. In more recent months, I’ve noticed that some tapas places have fallen to ‘shrinkflation’; however with this place you felt you were given fair portions. Not only that, everything was also delicious. Strangely perhaps, our favourite dish was the tempura broccoli with peanut sauce. Not sure how authentic to Spain this was - but we didn’t care - it was so good! Would thoroughly recommend visiting this place, and if we return to St Peter Port we will head here!More

Get here early it fills up quickly especially on a Sunday evening when many places are closed. The food is exceptional, we tried six dishes from the Tapas menu each one was exquisite full of flavour and looked appealing on the plate. Good selection of...wine too, not too expensive but wine in a restaurant is expensive wherever you go. The staff are very helpful, don't rush you into ordering, and apparently the cocktails are good too to start with, I declined but my dearly beloved indulged. would we come again for sure its fab.More

We came for a quick glass of wine on our first day in Guernsey and loved the atmosphere so much that we came for the full tapas experience a few days later. We were made to feel very welcome and ordered a bottle of Tempranillo,...which was perfect. Then we had some fabulous tapas dishes. In particular we loved the pork cheeks, the aubergine & goats cheese and the whitebait - but all 7 dishes were spot on. The service was attentive but not in yer face. I would totally recommend Tinto to anyone visiting Guernsey!More

Tinto is the best place to have a good and cheap dessert. It's usually crowded, specially because it's a smaller place, but is a very casual place for sure.

A joke of a place. As a chef myself in a well rated tapas bar I was keen to try a similar style of food, but this was about as bad as it gets. Not suitable for family’s even thought it says it is. The...place is tiny, but I was hoping to overlook this. The service was slow. We were crammed into a corner as we weren’t allowed to make a reservation. The food was poor. The flavours too powerful on delicate dishes. Very salty. The crowd and atmosphere was horrible. Drunk groups disturbing the meal. A drunk man decided to lean on me for a couple of minutes before realising. Lots of flies in this place as well, possibly attracted by the hideous decor of hanging dry chillis. Overpriced. Better places nearby for the same price. As a chef, avoid.More

Lively friendly atmosphere on a Sunday night. Innovative and original and most importantly very tasty food, meat, fish and veg all tried, together with good wine, all at reasonable prices. Strongly recommend.

Amazing menu. This restaurant is a little gem. Great service. Emma looks after the customers fantastically. Great gin cocktails, amazing wines and the tapas are out of this world. The Alderney beef croquettes were sublime. A must visit in St Peters Port.

Me and my girlfriend came across Tinto by walking through the streets of St Peters Port on our holiday, and we loved the look of it, the atmosphere was great and the smell coming from inside was amazing. We decided to go for dinner one...night, and it's first come first serve so we waited with a glass of their wine outside on one of the cool barrels, and it was well worth the short wait! It was honestly the best tapas I've ever had, the food was so fresh and tasted incredible. The chef had even hand dived the scallops earlier that morning. We'd recommend the Iberico pork shoulder, the scallops, the paella and the fluffiest cheesecake with blueberry compote! The staff there were the warmest, most friendly and fun people and we cannot thank them enough for making our evening so wonderful. I wish we could have come back to eat here again and enjoy more time with the staff there however we were limited with time on the Island. We loved the waitresses/waiter, we loved the food, we loved the restaurant and I cannot recommend coming here enough.More

Best service around! Decor a bit too minimal for me (a backrest or foot rail would have given a more comfortable perch by the window). Great tapas. The croquettas - mushroom - just wonderful. The fried battered squid was served almost dangerously hot and was,...I thought, chewy and stringy. Two of us had perhaps eight different dishes. Definitely going back, but will order two dishes and eat, then two more etc., as everything came at almost at once.More

Where better could you go than Tinto for a pre~dinner drink, amazing selection of gin and great choice of wine. It's a good place to eat, but also good for a drink as well, the one drawback is the Limited space but if you don't...mind squeezing up it works.More
