Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service is great and most of the food was wonderful. Dessert really poor. Cheese board is boring and simply not worth the money. If they added some additional chutney and cheese this would have made a big difference at a relatively small cost. So,...for us, it was simply not good value for money compared to some of the other restaurants in guernsey.More

First time and very pleasantly surprised. Was not noisy as I had expected and ambience was very friendly. Food and service was excellent. Crab linguine with fresh pasta was lovely. We had an early table which suited the kids, thanks for the nice touch re...my youngest’s birthday.More

We booked a table for 8. Our welcome was warm polite and enthusiastic. Everything had been prepared in advance. The restaurant is small but well laid out, with good decor and in true Italian fashion, spotlessly clean. The menu was authentic Italian with lots of...the classic dishes and some of the less known regional ones. Everyone had a 5 star meal and the gnocchi which I had I can highly reccomend. Pricing was in the range expected for the quality of the dishes on offer. This is a real Italian experience with no compromise for being outside Italy. Entering Gusto, you could be going into any trattoria in Italy. What a place to find in Peter Port.More

Great find towards the top of the hill in St Peter's Port. Genuine Italian food - the pasta was excellent and the grilled scallops perfect! The Montepulciano was a great wine choice.

We visit Guernsey on a regular basis, we have often walked passed the restaurant but always full. Today we called in for lunch, I have to say the welcome, service and food were all first class. Everything is freshly cooked and very tasty, the wine...selection is also good. Thank youMore

Food is excellent. Having recently been to one of Gino D’Acampo’s restaurant in London, can honestly say the food here is on par with that. Great staff, very attentive, would recommend.

We are not really into Italian food/drink but we knew the chef from previously being at a hotel we stayed in over Christmas and said we would pay him a visit. A very busy small restaurant which was slightly cramped but did not affect our...evening. I had a Mussels dish while my wife had a selection of bread with garlic/vinegar. For main course I had a trio which consisted of Prawns, Scollops and Brill which was excellent while my wife had whitebait and Kalamari which she enjoyed. No desert for me but wife had a coconut ice cream with cream which she enjoyed. The one downside was the lack of a sweet wine so I shared wife's Pellagrino water which makes a very unusual change.More

Our party of 4 all had different mains and they were all very enjoyable. Reasonably priced and a good choice of menu. Quite a small restaurant so was not noisy and boisterous. Pleasant attentive staff and didn’t have to wait long for our food. Would...go there again if I was here for longer.More

So very disappointed, we love our food & once again let down by restaurants - my husbands main course was special of day fish salad so sea bass brill scallops prawn with rustic salad His face changed from enjoying to ghastly - the piece of...brill had strong odour and taste - he quietly called the young man who said it was fresh today and as not to cause scene he continued to eat leaving the piece of Brill & tainted salad to one side ! The fish was definitely not right, you could smell it wasn’t - he declined another dish - but quietly asked the young man to ask the chef to smell, of which came back with nothing wrong etc etc - he even brought out another piece of raw brill which didn’t have odour - but the piece that was cooked did ! We didn’t want to get into a ridiculous debate so tried to enjoy our time whilst I finished my pasta - on receiving the bill the dish was still on there £26 and was paid - how very wrong and Handled badly we paid the £1118 inc tip and left with literally a bad taste in our mouths It’s a Monday night and perhaps it’s not as fresh as should be ? On talking to a local after the bistro has been taking over and reviews are still based on previous owners ! Lesson to be learnt listen to your customers that would of spent a lot more returning & sang your praises if you had handled it differently Will not return but will sing praises for china red who know how to treat customers and cookMore

Gusto provides some very good Southern Italian food, and a good selection of wines and cocktails. The interior is clean and bright, and the service excellent.
