Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They fitted us in on a busy Saturday evening. For starters we both had the tomato soup. This was very thick, creamy and tasted delicious and served hot in special dishes. I had the Scollops for my main course and on their own which was...just as well as there were 10 large ones. I did eat some of the Broccoli and Asparagus from my wife's dish of Duck. Her main also came with sliced/fried potatoes. My wife had the "Trio" for desert and as the name suggests came with 3 deserts off the menu. These were excellent. I had a very good Rose'. Good pleasant service on a busy evening and the food could not be faulted. If nit picking our table was to one side with another opposite with a gap between for the staff to serve others and customers to go to/from the toilet but this caused us very little problem.More

Last month at the very last moment (we were already to go and see a show but fog prevented the performer landing) we called ahead and asked if they happened to have two Dover Soles and a table! They did, so we made quick proceedings...to our last min change of plan. The Dover Soles were perfect, all very tidily off the bone with lashings of butter sauce, which is all it needed, it was an exceptional meal, accompanied with sides of new potatoes and courgettes (additional cost) For pudding, after seeing one pass by to another table, I went for the Meringue, which I hadn’t had for many many years, it’s one of those things you think is too simple, well I’m glad I changed my outlook, it was a plate of joy, and hidden inside was the fruity delight of strawberry ice cream, it felt fun, I’m glad to see this often overlooked dessert done so well. Nobby and his team are brilliant and deserve every moment of success. We are on our way back, very, very soon, for exactly the same meal, wouldn’t change a thing.More

Not been here for some time but it was well worth returning. Although busy we were served quickly with our drinks and menu and having ordered there was no real wait for starters. A nice gap between finishing our starters and the main course which...we like. I had breaded mushrooms for starter while my wife had Peri Peri chicken. Could not fault either. For main course I had Scallops which came with the roe which I always enjoy but not always get while my wife had Cod and Chips. Again neither dish could be faulted. An excellent Rose' was served. A very pleasant and helpful waiter and at the end of the evening the "boss" also came and spoke to us. We really enjoyed our evening here and will return on our next visit.More

The food was delicious and the portions generous. There were lots of dishes we could have chosen. A good selection of mock tails. The staff were friendly and helpful and the ambience was very welcoming.

This is one of our favourite restaurants on Guernsey. The service is fantastic whatever time of day you dine. There is a good choice of food with excellent quality ingredients. On this occasion, our teenage boys enjoyed the 6oz steak and myself and my husband...enjoyed the seafood linguine - which was absolutely packed with very fresh seafood. The service charge is not added automatically which we also prefer - so we always leave a decent tip for the very smart and courteous owner and waiters.More

I did a review a few years ago and I recently revisited for an evening meal. Nothing has changed, still good value and good food. There are a few changes on the menu, but still plenty to choose from. I had the seafood soup and fish...and chips, and for some reason I decided to go for the trio dessert, it’s a wonderful treat if you can manage to finish it! It’s a popular venue, and I believe booking is a must at weekends. I am very happy to recommend this restaurant again.More

We found Village East when we visited St Peter Port in July 2022 and our 16 year old son was adamant we should go again this year. The food was a good as we remembered it, the Cataplana was wonderful

With such a varied menu, there is bound to be something that you like. My wife thought her starter of tomato, avocado, mozzarella and basil salad was really good. I was particularly pleased with my choice of whole Dover sole, which was served de-boned as...I had requested. The coconut tart was a hit with me also. A pleasing meal for both of us.More

Really enjoyed the food, excellent sea bass. Cod and chips good though the peas were hard. Lovely tartar sauce. Felt a little rushed when asked if I'd finished when I'd literally just put my knife and fork down while chewing my food and picking up...my drink!More

Expecting more! Vegetables were gritty, needed a good wash, fried Brie and chips just from a cash and carry! Waiters not knowing what’s in the 3 trio dessert! Good points Sirloin Steak and Sea Bass both cooked really well. After providing feedback not one acknowledgment...of any feedback so paid the bill and left. Wouldn’t return hope others have a better experience!More

Slightly confined seating on the ground floor but lovely food. I had Tempura Prawns for starter which were 4 large ones which were very good. wife had PeriPeri chicken. She is not a salad/vegetable lover so the large amount of green salad was a waste...but she enjoyed the chicken. For main course I had a fillet steak which was rare as requested. wife had a rack of Lamb. Both mains were very good as was the desert my wife had-I think an Eaton mess or similar. My rose' was also good. Very good service at right the correct speed and friendly staff. even when I "complained" that the menu said "Mushrooms" and I only had one. The "chef forgot to cut it in half" I was told by i think the boss-with a smile.More

Sorry, I didn't have mine with me so never thought to ask. We sat outside on the little terrace so I'm pretty sure it would't be an issue.

Hi Tom. I think it's from 5-30-7 but best to check times if your thinking of going. Should be fine during the week but can get busy Friday's and Saturdays.
