Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We ate here whilst staying at the sister hotel, The Old Government House. We had the trio of fish and chips, which was very enjoyable and nicely presented, featuring salmon, pollack & cod. We were served by Bobby, the restaurant manager. He was courteous and...very attentive. A very enjoyable evening.More

Unbelievably high quality ingredients and impeccable service. Extensive food and drinks lists with super friendly but professional service staff. Great value & such a beautiful location. Both indoor light or cosy areas along with a relaxing bar area. The staff were knowledgeable, cleanliness was high...and I’ve honestly not had a dinner like that outside of where I live in Sicily where food it a religion! The chef is a creative and technical genius and has the best ingredients to work with. Would highly recommend this restaurant and bar.More

Excellent food, created in a glass-fronted kitchen by an attentive chef who took time out to come and check-up on how we were doing, supported by friendly and professional staff. Definitely a place to where we will return ... would suggest a touch more edginess...to create a more chilled vibe in the main dining room.More

My friend and I had lunch here on Wednesday 31st May. Although the restaurant was quiet we were made very welcome and staff could not have been more attentive. The Manager was especially friendly and we exchanged pleasantries about The Oyster Box Hotel in Kwazulu...Natal which I have visited a few times. Food was amazing and beautifully served. Compliments to Chef and all staff at The Leopard Bar. Thank you.More

Fantastic meal, I’ve left my main review under the hotel page but just wanted to add what a lovely meal we’d had and how nice the chef was when he came to chat to us. Save room for a desert, the raspberry garden was just...out of this world. Lovely staff, Bobby the restaurant manager was seeing to us and was so helpful.More

Myself and three friends went and enjoyed the Tennerfest menu, we had only tried the OGH so this was our first time in the hotel for food and drinks. The menu was nicely priced, I enjoyed the chicken curry and sticky toffee pudding (probably one...of the best I’ve had). The staff were friendly, we were greeted by Bobbie who was lovely and chatty and our waitress was bubbly and well mannered. The only criticism is the food took a long time to be served, despite the restaurant being fairly quiet and there was a man behind the bar who appeared to be quite rude, my husband’s friend went up to order some drinks and said he was very disregarding and overheard him talking down to another staff member. Other than this we would certainly come back and hopefully enjoy another meal around Christmas.More

The Leopard Restaurant is situated in the Duke of Richmond Hotel, where we were spending the week. Evening meal was the first meal we encountered and to be honest,my wife and I were not too impressed with the cuisine on offer, limited choices, very overpriced with a hefty...double figure service charge added to the final amount(to which I've only just found out,you can challenge to have it removed, though this IS not pointed out at the time!) Basically my wife and I had a burger and chips each with trimmings,2 pints of lager for me,bottle of lager for wife.....60 odd pounds! For anyone calling for breakfasts, well can't argue about amount of hot and cold foods on offer, but then again overpriced! Didn't find any "ambience",any warmth in the restaurant, although the service was first class, the bar however seemed quite cosy!More

As we were enjoying our stay in the Old Government House Hotel so much (see my separate review) we couldn’t resist checking out the culinary delights of its sister hotel, the Duke of Richmond. We weren’t disappointed with the Leopard. There is a lovely bar...to enjoy an aperitif and ponder the great choice of food and wine in the adjoining restaurant. All delicious. Our scallop risotto was an absolute triumph. Attentive, courteous and unrushed service. Tables nicely spaced. All in all a quality wining and dining experience.More

We were shown to our table promptly and asked if we wanted an aperitif, and we ordered two glasses of Champagne Lanson rose. We waited, and waited...10 minutes went by and another member of staff asked if we wanted a drink, and then another. Two...people came over and asked if we were ready to order - I said that we didn't want to be drinking champagne with our starters so we wanted to hold off from looking at the menu until we had our drinks. It took 30 minutes before someone (who I found out later was the sommelier) approached carrying two flutes - one with a pink liquid the other with white/yellow. They had run out of Lanson Rose, and wondered if a glass of rose Prosecco would make a suitable alternative! On what planet is Prosecco a suitable alternative to Champagne? We opted for the alternative, which was 2 glasses of Lanson NV Brut. This was flat and oxidised, and to my taste had been open for 3-5 days. Finally ready to order, it was at that point they informed us that our choice of starter was not available. The "specials" were written on a blackboard that was just plonked down in front of us with no attempt at explaining or describing them. The bottle of (non-sparkling) rose we ordered for our frst courses was served at room temperature. At these prices we expected more. A LOT more. Our waiter Bradley saved the evening from being a complete disaster with his good sense of humour and multiple attempts to make things better - well done Bradley!More

We pass this place and we’re so hungry. Just decided to check out luck! And manager Bobby made our evening! 1. Good is highly recommend. We took trio of lamb and chicken (half the chicken and mashed potato). Recommend both of it! 2. Drinks were...good! But! What made our experience great- Stuff. Bobby is a great manager. He shared his experience with us and we had so much fun! (P.s. thank you, Bobby! Can’t wait to visit your place!) Also every waiter, barmen were really good 10/10More
