I took my wife and two 7 year old twins there for an early supper 30th December. All the food was absolutely delicious and the leading lady (sister of chef I think) front of house was very attentive of all the tables in the restaurant. A great dinner experience and was only disappointed in one thing..........the New Years Eve menu... More

This is a bold statement as I've had a lot of cooked breakfasts, some of which have been in very fancy hotels, but this place is my favourite. Everything on the plate was delicious, I've never had tomatoes taste so good (sorry if this sounds a bit ott). I could rave on about the food for ages but the best... More

I have been to the Riverside a number of times. The staff are friendly and food is good. Food can be slow at times, even when there's not many customers, but worth the wait.

Family brunch on a cold wintery day... The Riverside was warm and inviting and buzzing with customers. Upon our arrival, we were promptly greeted and seated. As we arrived just after 12.00pm, we were offered the Lunch Menu, which offers a wide selection of dishes, including a range of hot doorstep sandwiches and burgers. My eleven year old son went... We called in for lunch with our baby and everyone there couldn't have been more friendly. What struck us were the amount of locals and familiarity which was so lovely to see. Food was excellent and would highly recommend. A local gem, shame we live so far away!

We visited The Riverside for the last breakfast of our trip to Devon and talk about end it on a high! We were greeted by the friendliest staff and even though they were busy and tables would soon be needed for lunch, they managed to accommodate us. We both went for the full English and weren't disappointed. I was a... More

Did I mention the cocktails made by Amy? Out of this world! Sammy, front of house - excellent welcome and care taken to make us welcome, discuss the menu and make sure our needs were met. Beef cheeks are to die for cooked by Dave the chef. Absolutely well worth a visit.

Took some guests for dinner for the second time and everybody really enjoyed it again. There is a warm atmosphere in a cool cafe / bistro style surroundings and very friendly service especially from our server "Captain Rory"! Nothing too much trouble. Food is very good and plenty of it, the steaks were very good as were the mussels. We... More
