Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We cannot recommend this place highly enough! We’ve visited twice now in the past month and we have loved both visits. The first time we went for a quick brunch and had the banoffee waffle stack and mushrooms on toast. Both exceptionally well balanced in flavour and the amount of food. We returned today with our family and they were equally impressed with all their dishes. Five of us ate and had drinks and it came to £40 which is brilliant when compared to similar places. The coffee is also well made and you can see that all of the staff really care about what they do. The service is friendly and there are some lovely little touches, like the suspended coffees and the option to pop a sign onto your table stating you are happy to share your table with anyone who is a lone diner and fancies a chat. A lovely atmosphere, great local food and fantastic service. What more could you want?

Chanced upon this place on a rainy day. A great alternative to the various fish and chip options in the town. Amazing mushroom soup with great crusty bread from 5up Bakery. Husband had the sausage sandwich- they do breakfast till 2.30. You can also suspend coffee and cake - pay for one that can be given to someone else who needs it. And they encourage people to share tables if they want to.

Stopped in for brunch last week with the family and had a great breakfast. One dish was not up to scratch but was knocked off the bill, very nice to see the staff care about their customers. All the other food was great and it's a nice little place to stop for a bite. Will definitely return

Went in because we were passing and really glad we did. Great sausage butty, friendly, local staff. Nice decor. You can put a sign on your table to say happy to share - they really promote interaction. Also like the 'suspended' orders, meaning you can buy a coffee {or anything) which would go to someone in need later. Highly recommended.

Went for brunch on Sunday with our son, having been here beforehand we made our way to the lovely garden which is delightful. The food is fantastic. My wife went off menu and the chef came out to chat to make sure the order was what she wanted. The coffee is superb as well with a good choice of different beans. I had scrambled eggs with bacon, sausages and delicious sourdough. My wife had french toast with berries and maple syrup and my son had french toast with bacon and maple syrup. All delicious and very filling. The larder has a lovely ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful. This will be our first choice for a relaxed brunch or coffee in Brixham.

Staff are super friendly, the food was excellent. Vegetarian and vegan options. Fab range of drinks from different coffees, teas, smoothies, milkshakes and soft drinks like Kombucha. They have a lovely brunch menu served 9am-2pm. Outside seating is nice in a cute courtyard. Lots of lovely plants and clearly a place the staff care about. Good prices - cost about £63 for 6 people’s breakfast and soft drinks/smoothies. Worth a visit for brunch!

We found Larder through trip advisor and are so glad we did. We had scrambled egg and sausage and cups of tea followed by cake with more tea. All the food was super tasty and a great portion. We relaxed in the garden reading and didn’t feel at all rushed. A really peaceful place to stop made even more lovely by the super friendly staff. Thank you :)

We visited here yesterday as a family of 4
The whole experience was brilliant, from the staff to the food.
We opted for 2 different sharing platters and the quality of the food in taste and presentation was excellent
The chef asked us how it was which my reply was you should sell your walnut pesto to take away it was exceptional.
As for the cakes..... again exceptional
Coffee is also very good
Please walk up from the harbour to find this place they deserve to excel and do very well and we for sure will be making the 30 mile trip again before heading home!

I ate brunch here 2 days running with my wife, 2 children and dog and the food and coffee were amazing. It was by far the best food we had in Brixham but the real jewel in the crown was the friendly staff who were very warm and welcoming to us on both occasions. Unfortunately we only found this place on our second but last day but it is definatly somewhere that we will visit again!

After stumbling across this quaint coffee shop after a Sunday walk (where we were served fantastic coffee) we decided to book onto the autumnal food evening. The 3 course menu had minimal options (2 for each course), focussing on refinement and quality over quantity. The food was absolutely superb. Me and my partner chose different options for each course and every single one was well executed and delicious. The Gorgonzola ice cream for starters was like something we had never tasted before. We will definitely return for one of their other themed evenings and would highly recommend for all.

Popped into The Larder in Brixham for brunch today i highly recommend you go and try . All our food was very well presented and most of all tasted fantastic. Local products are served where possible and prices are very good. Staff are very friendly and welcoming making the atmosphere very comfortable. Will definitely be back soon . 😊

I love everything about this place, the food, the service, and the setting are all fantastic. We had the vegan loaded toast and the mushrooms on toast first. The quality of the food is a cut above what you would normally expect - I really liked the pickled elements especially. The food was so good that we ordered the apple crumble pain perdu as well, which was genuinely the most delicious thing I have eaten in quite a while. There were lots of options for vegans, sweet and savoury. The service was super friendly and we were greeted upon arrival by a lovely woman who was also happy to answer questions about the food. The inside of the cafe is bigger than it looks from the front, there are lots of tables. My only negative is that it isn't open every day or in the evenings, as I could happily eat three meals a day here! 10/10, I'd definitely return.

This place is brilliant. It’s not on the main strip, but close by and worth a visit. They clearly love their business and took all COVID precautions with their service. The coffee is yum. The cake selection well above average and the menu tasty, varied, healthy and homemade. They have a pizza oven, but we didn’t try them. They have a well decorated inside, but also a lovely back courtyard. For those interested they had vegan diary alternatives. Wish I had it nearer me, but unfortunately on holiday!!

The Larder is well worth a visit, it has a spacious interior and a delightful rear garden outside space. The owners are lovely and greet you with a genuinely warm welcome. Service is excellent and the menu matches. We're regulars to Brixham and The Larder may be a recent addition to the cafés in town, but it's cemented itself as our favourite.
My girlfriend loved the bircher muesli and I was impressed with the eggs benedict. Cakes and cookies are freshly baked and delicious.
The coffee is of high quality and on one visit I had a very refreshing peach iced tea (the sweetness was spot on).
Best of all for us; it's dog friendly!

We were recommended this place for breakfast by another cafe (the latter didn't do breakfast). So glad we went, vegan loaded toast (we aren't vegan) was bursting with flavour and a good portion, the bullet proof coffee was delicious, the banana & date was fabulous despite being a tad sweet for me. Good staff and a nice ambience. They have a secret garden at the back which is partially covered. We will visit again now that we have found this.
