I was invited here for lunch - confess it would not have been my choice as I'm not a fan of sandwiches. The hot menu is very limited. The fish cakes sounded promising but were overcooked and served in a sweet brioche bun which was a bit of a weird combo. Service was very slow - actually had to get... More

Quintessential English tea room. Fine bone china, vintage decor and good service. We had a lovely cream tea (although I chose the GF option with a coffee, because I'm awkward!) but they were gracious and accommodating. Lots of glorious homemade cakes under glass with good GF options. Fab treat.

Fantastic sandwiches, cakes are out of this world , all freshly made , excellent choice of teas and coffees , my daughter is gluten free and said sandwiches were lovely , not the usual awful gluten free bread . Excellence service , have been serveral times before , and will certainly make it a regular place to visit

Visited Taylors recently on a Sunday lunchtime. Really excellent tea (many to choose from), hot chocolate, sandwiches, soup, and cakes. Very pleasant service and everything was perfectly presented.

This is probably the best cake shop in this part of Devon. Cakes are homemade. Scones were fresh & hot. Tea is served in delightful old fashioned tea sets. Fabulous Devon cream tea.

Great venue for a quick lunch or tea/coffee with fantastic cakes and service. Had the most delicious soup and the best cheese scone ever. Tea is always leaf tea with a wonderful selection and always an extra pot of hot water. Real tea cups and saucers with tea pots and strainer!!

Stopped with some friends and had a lovely afternoon. A very relaxed setting and had a lovely pot of tea and a cake. We arrived too late to have some famous carrot cake but I can highly recommend the bakewell tart. We will definitely be visiting again.

Having been here now 3 times, we are never disappointed with the food or service. I had the coronation chicken sandwich and it was the best I've ever tasted. Partner had the cheese scone and it was huge, also tasted fantastic. Next time we are having the full works with afternoon tea, cannot wait.

Stopped here for morning coffee, just how I would present my tea room, Tables set with bone china cups, white linen cloths, covered with glass, so sensible, Ordered coffee and slightly toasted teabread. Lovely coffees, teabread was fabulous! We didn't look to see what else they served, but will be back again.

Located in the ancient stannary town of Ashburton on the edge of the Dartmoor National Park. Tea at Taylors offers a taste of old England when the formality of tea was all the rage. Set amongst period antiques and soft furnishings, we hope that you might love the decor and ambiance as much as the home baking.
