Went for Valentines dinner and was amazed at the standard of food at the price charged. Delicious starters and we both had the Venison with dark chocolate sauce main, this was a true delight the flavour combination just right and meat cooked perfectly.Just able to manage the duo of lemon desert and again perfect. Not being licensed is no problem as... More

I ate here with a group of friends and I can honestly say, the food was excellent. Tasted amazing and beautifully presented. Warmly welcomed and we were all made to feel like nothing was a problem! Will definitely be coming back - in fact, we've already booked again! Thank you for you hospitality!

I went to whiddons on 21/01/17 with a group of friends, there was 12 of us in total, and we were greeted very warmly by the owner on arrival. The menu provided was a set menu prepared especially for us and there was a very good choice of dishes on offer. I had carrot and coriander soup to start which... More

We recently had dinner at Whiddons and really enjoyed it. The food was well cooked and tasty and the service friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced and the set price included bread, tea or coffee and mints. Well worth a visit.

The premises are quaint and there are only a few select seats available, but once you're in, you're in for a treat. The chef/owner had only been cooking professionally since finishing his last job and I have... More

We stopped here for afternoon tea on a blustery day. It was a perfect choice - the cakes were all homemade and delicious, the owner was a delight, and the ambience was charming and authentic without being saccharine. We would come back across the pond just for tea at Whiddons.

My wife and I stopped in after a long hike. Homemade cakes were excellent and so was the conversation with the owner!

The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The Bistro was generally quiet during our two visits, a very pleasant atmosphere & room. The service was excellent. The owner was charming.

We booked in to Whiddons for dinner at 7.30 last night and were surprised to be the only guests for the evening. We were made very welcome and had the undivided attention from Andrea for the evening. The food was all locally sourced and homemade by her husband. Being foodies, we recognised the care that had gone into the meal,... More
