We had a family celebration dinner at this restaurant and were very impressed. All our meals were delicious, the service was friendly and efficient with a lovely atmosphere. We brought our own wine. The deserts and coffee were lovely too. A very happy evening - Thank you and we would all highly recommend.

Great place to go to for afternoon tea after a walk in Chagford. Friendly service and delicious cakes. The lemon drizzle cake was out of this world.

We were last at Whiddons 2 years ago and it was very quiet. It now has new owners. We received a very warm welcome and it was busy. A small but perfectly formed menu focusing on sourcing 'local'. Thoroughly enjoyed our two courses and look forward to coming back on our next visit. Wishing them every success 😊

We called in on a whim for a quick bite of lunch whilst passing through chagford on holiday..and we were treated to a sumptious lunch experience by the lovely lady who runs front of house in this fine and cosy bistro. The food (cooked fresh by her hubby in the kitchen) was devine! My partner ordered ham egg n chips... More

We visited the Bistro during our stay to Chagford having a reserved a table prior to our visit (which was worth doing as the restaurant has limited spaces). We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal in a home from home environment. Each of the 3 courses were well presented, prepared... More

It was a family lunch with a quick look around chagford after. I had been to this establishment before when it was the eatery. However I am extremely pleased to pass on the wonderful news that the new owners have the right intensions in mind. We were greeted with wonderful cheer, and sat in the beautifully appointed dinning room. Where... More

Stopped by Whiddons for lunch - another great meal enjoyed by everyone. The 6 hour slow cooked beef was a real winner, as was the sea bream en pappillote - we had the last portion. My choice of Devon squash stuffed with pine nuts, roast veg and white Stilton had fabulous autumn flavours. We followed with treacle tart, apple and... More

My wife an I enjoyed a wonderful evening at Whiddons where we were very well looked after by the sole waitress/hostess/owner. It is a small and cosy restaurant - you will need to book - with a limited but excellent and interesting menu, charged as either 2 or 3 courses. The cooking and presentation fully lived up to expectations. Large... More
