This was recommended by a guide after an organised walk. We arrived early in the evening to an almost empty pub only to the told they were only serving locals and residents! Went to the brick house in Warburton instead

They announced on the internet that they would reopen on Friday 14th December, 'in time for the Christmas festivities' following renovations and redecorating the kitchen. So they may have done but today, Sunday 16th, they were still shut.

Found the owner Russell to be really rude and unresponsive to any complaints or explanations for the unacceptable service. Avoid avoid

Called with the intention of having a pint and lunch. The website says they are open at 11.00 a.m. At 12.00 there was no sign of life. A couple arrived and banged on the door and windows. No response. They went in through the hotel...More
