Quiet café which is attached to a hotel. Easily missed but you can get to it from the car park for haytor rock very easily. We had open sandwiches and a side order of chips. The sandwich had some micro herbs on it which was a lovely touch as they are not cheap to buy! The chips were fresh not... More

This has never taken off...ever since the manageress that use to work long hours to get the locals in , we all went a great deal, Sunday lunches were brilliant coffee and cakes were ace and suppers too sometimes with local musicians...it was fun and always enjoyable...then all change and it really is not welcoming or good. Service was lacklustre to say the least. Shame, as this was one of my favourite places. and it was popular. Lovely set up(big wooden tables and sofas) and can take dogs in. Food limited and below average. My fellow diners jacket pots were dry and the bacon overdone. I'm vegetarian so ordered the only veggie option from the main menu... More

Well placed, very little else in the area. Limited food, but good. Fairly empty off-season, but no doubt packed out in the holidays. Nice surroundings, roomy. Good for families.

Popped in for a bite of lunch, very limited menu and very limited enthusiasm, the place was empty so no atmosphere and the food was pretty lacklustre, also I know that it is a cafe and do not want to be told that when commenting as to whether they had a bigger range. Prob won't go back

Sandwhiches were bog standard if not small for the price. Girl behind the counter looked and acted like she didnt want to be there, she was more interested in playing with her phone. Only upside is its conveniant after a walk on dartmoor and that dogs can go in, although if you ask for a bowl of water for them... More

Can I firstly say the staff in the hotel part were very nice my issue is wholly with the cafe. The place looked lovely so I treated a few friends to a bite to eat. I was so embarrassed, the scone was dry and was sent back, the second one was just the same. The fish arrived piled high on... More

We had a cream tea and unfortunately it was disappointing. The scones where not particularly appetising and it was served with UHT cream with no apology..
