Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here for a family Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. It is a lovely cosy characterful pub which felt very welcoming as soon as we arrived. One of our party had whitebait as a starter which is a favourite of theirs wherever they...go, and said it was the best whitebait they had ever eaten. We all had the 5hr slow cooked rare beef and it was melt in the mouth. A wide selection of well cooked veg and delicious gravy made this a memorable dish. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Carpenters Arms. Welcoming efficient staff, terrific food and great surroundings. Can’t wait to return.More

My partner and I had dinner at the Carpenter Arms whilst staying at the Moorland Hotel in Haytor. We were warmly greeted on arrival and had some lovely chicken wings as a starter. For the main course we shared a sea food platter which was...delicious with some of the freshest and tastiest crab that I have had in a long time, A lovely Pub with great food and friendly staff. We will be back. Thank you.More

Wow, firstly deciding what I was going to eat was a challenge, but I opted for the Steak & Ale Pie. I wasn’t disappointed. Nicely presented and I have to say this was the best pie I have ever had. I ate it all! Massive...compliment to the Chef, Richard. To wash it down, I had a glass of their new IPA Proper Job which smelt and tasted so good. Thank you so, so much for a superb dinner!More
