My friend and I enjoyed a super lunch. The landlord was extremely amiable and helpful. The menu was a delight. How refreshing to have such delights on offer-If the journey hadn't been awkward to return this evening we would of. Nothing was too much trouble. Beware we will be back! Excellent

We've been going to Dartmoor and The Cleave every February half term for 10 years and recommended it widely to friends. Unfortunately after this occasion we wont be going back again. Having been told on the phone to arrive by 12.30pm to get a seat for Sunday lunch (if you've got a dog you have to sit in the bar... More

Have always wanted to try this pub since I discovered the village a while ago. Warmly greeted by the barmaid when we entered and ordered our drinks - were told we could sit in the bar or restaurant but the bar would be warmer - no brainer, then! Shown the menu, and we were surprised that 1. there was such... More

Stumbled across this perfect country pub on Dartmoor after navigating incredibly narrow roads to get there. Despite the isolation it was busy, and it soon became clear why. Excellent food at good prices, very friendly and efficient service and a really pleasant atmosphere- couldn't ask for more!

Like stepping back in time in the public bar but also a modern family feel in another area so something for everyone

Stopped for a snack at lunch time and was not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere in the main bar was cosy and warm. We had a Croque Monsieur and soup and they were both delicious. Would thoroughly recommend and we will be back very soon.
