Came here with a friend to have some lunch and ordered the southern fried chicken burger with chips and onion rings. Unfortunately on this visit the food(chips and onion rings was cold) the burger was warm but not as hot as I’d like it to...be. I’ve been here before plenty of times and the food has always been lovely and at right temperature. Although the food was not great the staff were very lovely and helpful. The customer service was 100%More

Sunday 14th april. Ordered the Mega fish and chips. More like a minnow. Not crispy, over cooked chips, cold peas. No tartae sauce. Waited ages for it to arrive. Expensive price for poor quality. Also ordered the chicken kebabs. The menu shows peppers and onions...but none arrived. . Just dry chewy chicken. More over priced poor quality food. We use this restaurant a lot out of season with excellent food and value for money. New menu ready to overcharge the holidaymakers for an overpriced meal. We did fill out a feedback card but have Not had any response. Avoid this place.More

Worst meal ever! Eaten here before and the meal was ok. Therefore we Reserved a table for 7 of us over Easter assuming it would be busy! and even though we all had separate different meals steak, burger, chicken, pizza the food was vile tough...over cooked but cold too it was so bad we didn’t stay for dessert therefore would never eat here again! Go to The Anchor or Smugglers Inn instead the food home cooked fresh and is good on bothMore

Was looking forward to having a meal here as staying close by but wished we hadn't bothered. Scampy and chips was OK but chips cheap skinny fries. My poor grandsons meal was awful. Cheesy pasta meant cold pasta with some grated cheese on top. Very...poor effort. Ordered pudding and a totally different dessert turned up, when it was changed for a banana split again poor. I could have done so much better and would never return. Thought for what we got expensive.More

Easter Sunday holiday meal, after struggling to find somewhere to eat due to everywhere being booked we thought we would roll the dice and try the Boathouse. Our hearts sank as we entered and found all the tables reserved. However I did ask if a...table for two adults and a child was available, a reserved table was instantly found and we were told there’s no wait for food and provided you’re finished before 13:00 all is good. We ordered lasagne, chicken nuggets and my personal favourite a mixed grill. The food arrived within 15minutes and was hot, tasty and well presented. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and given it’s a pub in a high tourist area I cannot praise them enough. Top marks guys and thank you.More

Fabulous place. Such a quirky setting. My daughters loved their surroundings while eating their food. While on a family holiday to Dawlish we visited for lunch and dinner on separate days. My daughters, we are picky eaters, loved their cheesy pasta and spaghetti bol and...ate it all without complaint. The steak baguettes were perfectly cooked and the zesty boathouse salad was absolutely delicious, very filling and a fabulous combination of ingredients. I left totally satisfied by our whole experience. The prices were typical, the kids eat free with adult main meals offer was fantastic and saved us nearly £16. Food was fresh, hot and serviced with surprising speed.More

Just had to write in to say that £18.50 for a large wine, pint of coke and portion of chips even if it was on the large size I felt was too much, also the barman kept of staring at me obviously thought I was...up to no good but felt quite intimidated by the constant staring. Surely their staff should be making customers feel relaxed not put them on edge with constant staringMore

Food let it down, tremendously, such a shame, as they have some pleasant staff. Isn't it about time the warren offered more than pre cooked frozen food warmed up.

I was here yesterday evening with my partner. Despite the negative reviews we decided to give it a chance but, to our disappointment, it wasn't very good. I had the beer battered cod which was very bland and the garlic bread seemed cheap and rushed....My partner had the sticky sesame chicken and he said the sauce was too sweet. Overall the people were nice however personally wouldn't go here again.More

Such a nice place, great views, the staff were very friendly,we had fajitas which were soooo good. The only small thing is the ladies toilets,we were there after the lunch rush but the ladies were not great if I could make a small suggestion that you put nappy...bins in the toilets as there were discarded nappies in there and the ammonia stung my eyes.More

I ordered 2 fish finger sandwiches. The person was polite and asked me if I wanted crisps or chips. I replied Chips and didn’t think anything of it. There was no mention of an additional charge for the chips. (The chips on the menu are...a side order therefore we should have also have the crisps but we didn’t. ) I paid the bill and sat at my table. My partner asked me how much it was I told them the price. They were confused. The bill was £5 more than expected. After lots of chat and checking the receipt it turns out the chips were £2.50 each. It turns out the menu only gave the option of crisps and not chips. My point to this review is the staff member didn’t mention that chips were an additional price and even the receipt didn’t mention the chips were at a substitution price (£5.50 is purchased as a side) It’s not the end of the world but I feel that I’ve been duped. What I guess I’m saying is make sure you know what you are ordering and don’t get pulled into upselling ploys!More

Stopped off for a drink and some nibbles before heading to our holiday accommodation. Able to sit on sofas by lovely fire (it was freezing outside). Staff really friendly and good food. Great selection of food and drink.
