Booked this as an anniversary dinner.The service was 5 star, the speed, accuracy and temperature of the food served was exceptional. Exceedingly good value for money, the front of house gent gave us an anniversary surprise, although anniversary was only mentioned whilst we ate, so...he had no time to prepare anything. The food was correctly prepared, cooked and the spices were tongue tingling. Would recommend this restaurant, a pleasurable experience and the quality of food was outstanding, a 11 out of 10 on all aspects of our visit. The drinks were not overpriced, actually quite cheap,unlike some restaurants. We’re visiting Dawlish as part of our tour of the South West and I would happily dine here again. We came up from Cornwall and had dinner here last night. It was our 1st visit and we absolutely loved it. Staff are superb. Very friendly,helpful attentive and welcoming. The food is good value for money,high quality tasty and moreish. The venue is spotlessly clean...and very tastefully decorated. We will definitely be back when we next come to Dawlish and would highly recommendMore

Went here with great expectations due to previous reviews, what a huge disappointment! Firstly the poppadoms came out way too quickly and turned out to be stale so sent them back- not a good start. Mains came out after quite a long wait, Everything continued...downhill from then. All dishes were very bland, I’m not just talking lack of chilli , there was just no depth of flavour to anything. We love our curry’s and have eaten in some of the best curry places around the Midlands and in London so we know what is good and what is rubbish. We left most of the food and told the manager the reason, he didn’t say much and offered no discount on the uneaten meal. Wonder what all the people who have praised this place count as good food or maybe we just had a different chef that night? Wouldn’t risk wasting your money anyway.More

We had a delicious meal at this restaurant and it was made even better by our lovely waiter Sanjeet. He was so friendly and helpful with ordering. We both had delicious curries and shared a starter. The chicken was so tender it fell apart and...the sauces were gorgeous. We were even more fortunate that we happened to eat there on carnival night which was a lovely surprise. When the floats started coming past the window we asked to go outside and watch the procession. They were happy for us to go outside and watch and trust that we would return to pay our bill. We stumbled upon this restaurant when walking around Dawlish. Although we had not booked a table we were lucky enough to be able to dine in as they were already near full capacity. The food and the service were amazing. The food was delicious and...the staff were very attentive. To top it all off they also do a very nice Irish Coffee. Keep it up guys! We will be back.More

If you are in Dawlish and fancy an Indian, do not even be tempted by this place. We had takeaway many years ago and thought we would eat in. Having ordered, we waited and waited and ... We waited. 45 minutes at least for 3...main courses. Restaurant busy? No, only 2 other tables and one was eating. And when the food arrived? Bland, tasteless. Chunks of chicken in sauces that looked and tasted out of a jar. Mine was meant to be chicken tikka i.e. tandoori chicken. No way. We all agreed the food was dreadful despite having 3 different dishes that looked almost identical. Gurkha or Nepalese on the menu usually means something different and very tasty. This didn't even qualify as half decent standard Indian.More

The only curry house in the heart of Dawlish 👍My Husband and I are on Holiday in my opinion there is no need for another one just perfect.

Beautiful food for vegans with a full choice menu. Good food for everyone else with one stating the chicken pasanda was best she had ever had. Service was exceptionally polite and helpful. An excellent meal to end a fabulous long girlie weekend in Dawlish

I called in early evening for a curry. I had the poppadom's as a starter followed by the Garlic Chilli Chicken for my main with a Garlic Coriander Naan bread. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered. The staff were very polite and also very attentive....I would definitely return for another curry next time I am in Dawlish. Tucked away in a residential part of Dawlish, you might think this just a takeaway but there’s so much more to it. We were a party of five. There was another party (of two) and the rest of the restaurant was empty. Admittedly, it was...a Wednesday night but it’s the kind of place people will absolutely love. Authentic Indian/Nepalese food, including a great vegetarian/vegan range. My mum had booked a table an hour before we arrived. She told them it was my birthday. They put up a banner and balloons. They even then brought out a cake after we’d finished eating, totally of their own accord. Small touches that made the night even more special. Thank you to all the team at Gurkha Dawlish.More
