Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great little place. Superb pizza, fantastic view across the dart. Pretty unique. Bit pricey, but willing to pay for the experience. However, totally my fault, do not drive to the pub. Stop & park in the village. The road is very, very tight,...with no turning area. Do not ignore the signposts !!!?!?More

An old favourite which always gets it right. After visiting Greenway House we crossed the river on the little ferry from Greenway Quay (a 5* experience in its own right!) and arrived at the FBI at the same time as the passengers arriving by ferry...from Dartmouth. Half term. And it was raining! The bar staff handled the sudden influx of thirsty customers efficiently and with good humour. A great time was had by all. A friendly, welcoming traditional pub. The home cooked- food is excellent and reasonably priced.More

New owners have spoilt this pub which used to be the best. Expensive, poor food and long wait for both food and drink. No wonder all the locals go up the hill. Still has the view though, but will struggle in the winter without visitors...to pay outrageous prices for less than average food.More

Came to The Ferry Boat with my Cousins as we were staying in Dittisham going down memory lane. The staff were amazing…welcoming, attentive and clearly very hard working. The pizza’s were delicious and the local’s were so lovely we just had to go back the...following night, can’t wait to return!More

Great beers, great views. Good place to call for a drink having taken the ferry from Dartmouth. Nothing special except the location.

We had booked a group to come and enjoy a get together after taking ferries from Dartmouth and the team couldn’t do enough for us. Pizzas were delicious, location perfect and team so welcoming. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Probably the best pub I've visited!! And being a publican myself that's a big statement. A very warm welcome from the owners, his team and the locals. We stayed along from the pub and visited most days, the food was excellent as was the choice...of drinks. Thanks guys for looking after us. Oh and probably the best quiz master ever.More

Took the small Dittisham ferry from Dartmouth and had lunch at the FBI. The pub was cosy and very busy but we found a table in a corner. Others who arrived on the same ferry seemed to have booked a table ahead. My partner had...a pizza and I had the cassoulet from the specials board. Both arrived promptly and were delicious! Washed down with local ale, we took a return ferry very happy!!More

Monday 3rd Oct. We had a very poor meal. I heard talk that there was a problem with the chief. Best if you can't do better then admit and not offer anything.

Sat on river Dart we travelled via dartmouth on ferryboat, the return price was reasonable an hourly service was on offer in September. Once moored up the first thing u see is the ferry boat inn or FBI as they like to call it. The...bar staff were very friendly and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our visit. On a weekday in September the food choices were a range of pizzas or a soup or a cassoulet. We ordered the cassoulet which wasn't to our liking tbh, this was personal taste rather than an issue with the food. We saw 5 gorgeous hand prepared pizzas delivered to the next table and realised our choice had been poor. A small selection of ales and ciders etc was were on offer. The pub has delightful views directly over the river and felt homely. I would return and do some table watching before ordering next time. Doh.More

We visited this lovely pub via the ferry from Dartmouth and highly recommend it The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful, the young waitress even insisted on levelling off our wobbly table leg, and couldn’t have been more pleasant & helpful...!
