Very welcoming and cheery patronne, who insists on keeping the quality level up. They sort out service times to ensure the chef can deliver, and he does. I imagine (hope) the chef would have some help if the restaurant filled up, but the setup we encountered gave us a super meal at a reasonable price.

We have lunched at Saveur twice now and can't recommend it enough.
Located in Tower Street in the centre of Exmouth, this is a two AA rosette restaurant, an award which is difficult to achieve and in my experience always a sign of very high standards.
Saveur is a small, smart and intimate venue and you will get a very warm welcome from Kerry and her front of house team. Service is friendly and efficient.
The food here is absolutely delicious and in my opinion is the best you will get in Exmouth. Saveur showcases fresh, locally sourced produce so you will find monkfish from Brixham (the monkfish scampi starter is a masterpiece), beef from the Powderham estate, locally sourced pork and there's a 'catch of the day' served with a choice of sauces, sautéed potatoes and vegetables.
For a fine dining experience the prices here are competitive. If you're on a bit of a budget then there's a lunchtime offer of 2 courses (£25.50) or 3 courses (£29.50) comprising selected dishes from the menu. The first time we ate here we went for the lunchtime offer and on the most recent visit we selected from the wider menu.
I honestly can't rate Saveur highly enough, Exmouth is lucky to have such a superb restaurant in the town centre. We will most certainly return!

We booked a table some time before our mini break in Exmouth because of other reviews and we weren't disappointed. Despite the restaurant having a large group, the service and communication from the owner and her husband chef was great, very hospitable and the food was fabulous. Definitely will be returning 😀

Probably our forth but definitely our final vest to this place. The waitress was great but it was clear from the moment we entered that the owners wife was in a mood. The starters were just about Ok but were very salty so we asked the owner of she would ensure that our main courses were not over salted. Well I can only assume that her husband (the chef) took umbridge this and covered our meals with rock salt to the extent that it was inedible. When we complained the owners wife picked up the plates stormed off to the kitchen in a huff. when she returned she agreed that my meal was overly salty but tried to argue that my wife's, which to our tastes was worse but she claimed it was fine. Not wanting to stay and have an argument in front of other diners we decided to leave. I offered to pay for our starters and wine but the owner shouted across the restaurant that did not want my money, so we left.

I am not sure why you have felt the need to review us again. I fully took on board the feedback from your previous review in October 2023 and am a little confused why you felt the need to remind me again over 10 months later of your poor experience. I am truly sorry that it has clearly aggrieved you so much you are still festering over your experience.

Unfailingly excellent. All the courses were delicious with fish, hake in this case being the star, something I'd not expected to say about hake. As ever there was some alchemy with sauces, with flavours emerging that you would not expect but enhancing the overall dish. We decided firmly not to have pudding until we changed our minds as they all sounded delicious but the cheeseboard was the highlight with two local cheeses showcasing the quality.
Not expensive, if shabby chic bothers you then concentrate on the food and the service was impeccable.

A very tasty, first class meal, from the mackerel starter, pork tenderloin and deserts of cheese and fruits.
Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff,
The lunch menu, is reasonably priced, and worth every penny.
What more could you want.

My wife and I had a fantastic meal at Saveur tonight, I had herb crusted Lamb , my wife had sea bass, we regularly eat out, this was exceptional food and was one of the best meals we have eaten in Exmouth. The choice of food caters for all tastes, the service is excellent with a great atmosphere. I would recommend Saveur to anyone looking for an exceptional food experience.

We have been here for lunch before and it is always lovely. We chose thhe fixed price lunch menu, three courses for £27.50.
We had Ham Hock and local Black Pudding Scrumpetwith Gribiche to start. Followed by Chargrilled lemon and rosemary cornfed Chicken with Camembert Potatoes, fine beans and Garlic and Tarragon Sauce. Desert I chose Citrus Posset, Rhubarb, Ginger and Honeycomb and my partner chose Warm Frangipani, Apple Compote, Buttermilk Icecream and Crispy Almonds.
Exceptional meal again - thank you.

Absolutely delicious menu prix fixe.
Honestly fantastic generous and highly competent proper cooking from a chef who clearly understands classic techniques and seasoning.
Warm and friendly front of house service just made it a wonderful lunch at £29.50 for 3 courses, unbeatable value too.

My wife and I went here recently to celebrate her birthday. The waitress was fab and friendly and had a great sence of humour. Unfortunately that was where the fun ended. My wife ordered dover sole and I had the pork dish. Mine was extremely salty but I decided not to say anything, however my wife's meal was inedible because everything was plastered in heaps of salt. We called the waitress over,who then asked the owner to come and speak to us. She was very curt and offered to recook the meal. We asked if whe would take bith away as we didn't want to eat alone or leav mine to go cold whilst they recooked for my wife. She took both away but quickly returned to inform us that she had tasted both and thought that the fish was fine but maybe the pork was a bit too salty! I informed her that I was very sorry and that we did not agree and that bith my wife and I thought that the dover sole was extremely salty. At this point she started to raise her voice and attracted the attention of the rest of the diners. At this I decided that it was time for us to leave as the situation was irreconcilable and that we would oay for the wine but not the food and got up from the table and went into the bar area to pay. The owner followed me and as I went to hand her my credit card she raised her voice again and shouted "I don't need this or your money, just go!"

We visited this restaurant lunchtime following a recommendation from a local resident. The restaurant is tucked away along a side street and this reflects the intimate atmosphere inside. The restaurant consists of two dining areas, modestly decorated with various sea themed pictures (reflecting its seafood focus) together with clean lined tables and chairs to create a light and airy chic venue.
The lunchtime menus was concise, however the choices to be made all sounded amazing, with my wife having homemade soup followed by hake. I ordered monkfish scampi in a curry mayonnaise followed by lemon sole in a cockle oil. We both followed up with a selection of local cheeses and accompanied our meal with a fabulous bottle of Pinot Grigio…..
The meal was absolutely superb, I would easily place this in my top 10 best meals I have ever eaten. The flavour combinations were very cleverly considered, the sourced ingredients were of very high quality. This combined with efficient, friendly but not overbearing service culminated in an amazing experience and wonderful wedding anniversary.

We have eaten dinner in this lovely little restaurant on two evenings recently. On both occasions the standard of hospitality, service and food was superb. They specialise in fish with a choice of sauces. The menu is not extensive but that ensures that everything is cooked to order and they are eager to address individual requests. Saveur means flavour and we found the balance of flavour and portion sizes were spot on. The monkfish scampi was excellent and the sole with Romesco sauce was to die for! Fortunately we live locally and can visit again soon. Thank you.

We have wanted to try this restaurant for a while and at last today we got the opportunity as we were without kids for the weekend. It fully lived up to its excellent reviews - the mushroom and Stilton soup was exquisite as was the duck scrumpet ( shredded duck and formed into cuboid then fried). Fish of the day was well presented with lovely accompaniments and desert could not be missed - panna cote that had the right amount of wobble. There isn’t a wide menu, but the food is exceptional and enough choice I would say to cater for most people’s tastes. We will be back without a doubt - one of those restaurants you remember and look forward to returning to again in the future.

This was our second visit to Saveure having had a very good meal here a year ago. On this occasion we were thanking a close associate for doing some very good work for us so it was important that it was good - and it was. In fact it was outstanding. I don’t recall what everyone ate but I had the Asian Cured Salmon, the Hake with shrimp and samphire brown butter with spinach and the Crème Brûlée. All the dishes were delicious. It turned out we all had the Hake with one or other of the sauces and all agreed it was one of the finest cooked pieces of fish we had eaten for a long time. Saveure really I s a very good restaurant!

Eaten here many times but last Saturday 4th September the restaurant catered for 21 ladies for a “ Hen party”
Nigel the chef cooked 21 different starters, 21 mains and desserts with no help in his kitchen.
Presentation was superb and all delivered to our tables by Kerry and two other staff .
The food was and never fails to disappoint.
This restaurant is amazing and I have no hesitation in recommending this little gem of a place.
My favourite starter every visit is the monkfish scampi!
