Impromptu Christmas catch up - Friday night and the venue was sorted with space between tables, Lou and the team made us very comfortable. Food was just perfect. We had Mussels, home made leek and potato soup, delicious focaccia bread on the side. One of...us had haddock and chips, another fish finger ciabatta and the turbot special with the most tasty cream fish sauce was the best she’d ever had. Can’t fault it.More

We went with friends who had been a number of times but this was our first visit. First impressions of the restaurant itself were not so great but outside seating around the marina would be lovely in summer. Things picked up a lot when we...were served by a charming french waitress who looked after us very well throughout the entire meal. Interesting menu but unfortunately no set lunch. I chose the crab risotto and my wife the scallops. The risotto had the crab mixed in together with the rice as well as small bits of orange and a hint of chilli.....it was the first day on the menu and I would heartily recommend it.....an inspired combination. My wife's local scallops were presented in the shell with a great sauce and were delicious she said. We all opted for the fish of the day which was a whole local brill in a shrimp, butter and caper sauce. The fish was cooked just perfectly and the sauce a real compliment even though it did not sound immediately the right thing to go with it. The hint of acidity from the capers and the shrimp flavour were a delight.....it really worked. I love it when combinations with dishes really surprise you. Sticky toffee pudding to finish was a very fine example of the good old British Classic. Good wine list with a number of wines under £25 and a proper expresso to finish We will be going back as the food was inspired, well presented and of a very high quality. Well done Team.More

Fish finger brioche - thin overcooked dry long tasteless piece of fish in more breadcrumbs than fish in a finger brioche bun. Seriously not nice, wish we had eaten elsewhere. Staff not interested.More

Hi Steve. We do have a large number of tables outside which we manage on a first come first served basis. I’m afraid we do not take bookings on outside tables.
